OBD PortLink is an offline-first Android utility developed by Intelligent Vehicle Telemetry. It connects a supported USB serial OBD adapter to compatible OBD client apps running on the same Android device.
DATA COLLECTION AND SHARING
OBD PortLink does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data with the developer or third parties. It does not include advertising, analytics, user accounts, or remote developer servers.
Vehicle and adapter traffic is processed locally on the device and forwarded only through the Android loopback interface (127.0.0.1) to a compatible client app on that same device. It is not exposed to the local Wi-Fi network by OBD PortLink.
DATA STORED ON THE DEVICE
The app stores operational preferences, trial timing, purchase-entitlement state, and limited diagnostic counters locally on the device. This local data can be removed by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app.
PURCHASES
The optional one-time v1 unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. OBD PortLink does not receive or store payment-card details. Google's handling of purchase and account information is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
THIRD-PARTY APPS AND HARDWARE
OBD PortLink can open or exchange local OBD traffic with compatible third-party client apps selected by the user. Those apps and connected hardware are independent products and may have their own privacy practices. OBD PortLink is not affiliated with or endorsed by their developers or manufacturers.
CHILDREN
OBD PortLink is intended for adults working with vehicle diagnostic equipment and is not directed to children.
CHANGES
This policy may be updated if the app's data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
