How to install SP6
To install SP6, you need to download the file from the Altium website. The file size is about 25 MB. You can use the following steps to install SP6:
Make sure that Protel 99 SE is not running on your computer. You may need to restart your computer before installing SP6.
Run the downloaded file and follow the instructions on the screen.
The installation wizard will guide you through the process of installing SP6. You can choose to install SP6 for all users or only for yourself.
The installation wizard will also ask you if you want to back up your existing Protel 99 SE files before installing SP6. It is recommended that you do so, in case you encounter any problems or want to revert to the previous version.
After the installation is complete, you can launch Protel 99 SE and enjoy the new features and enhancements of SP6.
Note that SP6 is compatible with both the licensed and trial versions of Protel 99 SE, but not with Protel 99. SP6 modifies the existing Protel 99 SE files, so you do not need to uninstall the previous version before installing SP6. However, if you have a pre-release version of SP6, you must fully uninstall it before installing the final release. You can use the Add/Remove Programs option in the Windows Control Panel to do so.

A new Close All Documents option has been added to the right-click menu of the document tabs at the top of the design window. This allows you to close all open documents without closing the design database.
A new warning feature has been added to notify you when another user opens a design document that is already open by you or someone else. This helps you avoid conflicts and data loss when working on shared projects.
A new check has been added to report when documents that were in a Windows File System database are no longer present. This helps you avoid errors and missing files when working on projects that are stored on external drives or network locations.
The Compact Database option has been set as default for new installations of Protel 99 SE. This option helps you reduce the size and improve the performance of your design databases by removing unused data and compacting the database file.
The Session information has been updated to reflect when a design document is saved using the Save As command. This helps you keep track of your changes and revisions when working on multiple versions of a document.
The PCB Editor panel has been improved with more options and functions for browsing, locating, editing, and viewing PCB objects, such as nets, components, libraries, classes, rules, and violations.
