Melinne Martin is a beautiful 32-year-old single lady. After her failed 10-year-old marriage, she decided that she was never going to fall in love again. She was going to dedicate her life to study, work, and achieve her goals. She knew that God had a perfect plan for her, and after her painful divorce, she did not believe that plan included a man in her life. She worked during the day and attended college classes in the late afternoons to complete her medical degree.

Her decision to never fall in love again was suddenly challenged when she met her college professor, Michael Redson. Meeting Michael set her heart afire. When she looked into his eyes, the most beautiful baby blue eyes she had ever seen, she got lost in them in a way she never thought possible. Was she going to be able to resist the strong attraction to Professor Redson? Can she focus on her plans and ignore her professor's interest and very intense attraction?

Prologue

As Leann observed the security cameras, she felt her heart sink as she witnessed Melinne exiting her house, triggering a wave of urgency and desperation within her. The alarm did not go off when Melinne left her house because someone had disconnected it an hour before.

As Leann headed to the door to look for her sister, she noticed a note on top of a table. When she took the note and read it, it revealed Melinne had gone to Sarah's house.

Heartbroken, Sarah recounted the events to Leann, but it was too late. Melinne had been kidnapped, disappearing without a trace and leaving Leann and Sarah in a state of shock.

Will they find Melinne? Can they save her from Travis's clutches?

Chapter 1

The Search

Michael

A desperate search for Melinne ensued, involving Sunset Beach authorities, the FBI, family, and friends. Every corner and crevice was meticulously examined in the frantic effort to locate her. Melinne's presence mysteriously vanished without a trace as if she had simply ceased to exist. Her absence cast a chilling dark cloud over the town as if she had been swallowed by the earth itself, leaving behind no clues to her whereabouts.

A month had passed since Melinne's disappearance, and her whereabouts remained a mystery. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a comprehensive search of all properties associated with Travis, leaving no stone unturned. This search included meticulously examining his parents' residences for any potential evidence. Office buildings associated with Travis were also subject to the FBI's thorough investigation. Although the search for Melinne did not yield any concrete clues or breakthroughs regarding her whereabouts, the investigation uncovered sufficient evidence to warrant the incarceration of Travis, his parents, and several city officials for the rest of their lives.

"Father, I am overwhelmed by desperation. The intense emotional turmoil that engulfs me has severely hindered my ability to effectively teach at the university. The weight of my personal struggles has become unbearable, enveloping my life in a veil of darkness. The constant flood of emotions within me is threatening to consume my life. God, it is extremely challenging for me to perform my duties effectively. The act of teaching feels like an impossible task. My mind, usually sharp and analytical, is clouded with confusion and doubt. I feel like I'm in a fog of despair. I need your help, Father God." As Michael prayed these words, a cascade of tears streamed down his face. Despite understanding that only God could help him, Melinne's absence made it extremely difficult for him to focus on his daily responsibilities. "Father, I trust You; help me to rest like it says in Psalm 91:2. You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Every time he went to his classroom, visions of Melinne flooded his mind. He remembered her radiant presence, seated in front of his desk, her smile illuminating his world. Her delightful countenance that brought tranquility to his soul, and her silken black hair cascading gracefully, captivated his gaze. In a moment of profound contemplation, Michael knew that he couldn't continue teaching like this. He needed God's guidance and support. "Father, guide me, enlighten me on the actions I should take."

In a moment of profound inspiration, a divine thought came to his mind, prompting him to embark on a heartfelt conversation with his mother. A gentle whisper echoed within his soul, "Speak with your beloved mother." Michael remembered Isaiah 30:21, Which says, Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying. This is the way: walk in it." He knew it was time for him to make a decision; he decided to talk to his mom as soon as possible. After suffering from an accident and a heart attack, Marietta, his mother, fortunately made a full recovery and regained her health completely.

The following morning, he began his day with an invigorating run. Upon returning home, he refreshed himself with a much-needed shower before heading to visit his mother.

Marietta welcomed her son with a warm embrace. "Michael," she asked, "how are you holding up today?"

A hint of despair crept into Michael's voice as he responded, "Mom, this situation is overwhelming. Melinne's whereabouts remain unknown, and I feel increasingly helpless."

"Michael," Marietta said softly, "let us pray for Melinne's safe return." "Almighty Father, we humbly approach you, seeking your divine intervention in this pressing matter. It has been a difficult month since Melinne's disappearance, and our hearts ache with desperation to find her. Please extend your protective embrace wherever she may be, surrounding her in your loving care. Grant us comfort knowing that we can place our trust in you, for you are our God, and our lives are entrusted to your precious hands. May your will always prevail. We love you, Lord. Amen."

"Amen," Michael replied. As the conversation progressed, he felt God's presence filling his heart, and he clearly understood what his next step should be.

"Mom, I'm experiencing significant difficulties in teaching. Would you consider returning to the university to teach?"

With unwavering enthusiasm, she declared, "Yes, my son!" "I am ready to return to my teaching career. Teaching brings me immense joy. While staying at home, I've grown incredibly bored. Michael, according to my doctor, my health is in excellent condition. Therefore, I am eager to resume teaching in my classroom."

"Would you like to go today and talk to the board of education?" Michael asked her. Her heart leaped, filled with a mixture of joy and anticipation. With a radiant smile and eyes sparkling with excitement, she replied without hesitation,

"Yes, absolutely! Let's go. I'd like to speak to the board of education today. I can't wait to tell them all about our plans." "Teaching isn't just a job for me - it's my true calling in life. Let me gather my things, and we'll head out."

His mother finished getting ready, and they both went to Sunset Beach University. Together, they met with the board of education, meticulously completing all the required paperwork. Her first day was scheduled for the upcoming Monday.

Michael's experience served as a powerful reminder that personal challenges can profoundly impact our lives. By going through this experience, he has come to appreciate the significance of a deeper personal relationship with God. This connection has provided him with a sense of stability and grounding, even when he felt anxious about the worries in this world. God reminded him of a verse, Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.

In a soft whisper, God spoke to Michael's heart, "You are my son, and my love for you is never-ending. Know that my presence is always with you, and I will never abandon you."

"With a heart full of gratitude, I express my deepest thanks to You, my God, for your steady presence in my life. Your love and care surround me, and I am eternally grateful for your peace that is covering me at this moment. As I pray, I lift Melinne's family and friends, asking for your comfort and strength during this difficult time. Her family, friends, and I have all been overcome with a deep sense of sadness and grief since her tragic kidnapping. Our emotions are shattered, and the intensity of our agony has left us feeling overwhelmed and inconsolable. In the name of Jesus, I pray. May your extraordinary love, dear God, embrace each of us. Grant us your peace, which is beyond human comprehension. Amen."

Despite facing challenges, as a man of faith, he held onto the teachings of the Word of God. One particular verse resonated deep within his soul, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Pray without ceasing, which emphasized the importance of continuous prayer.
