Open access, preprints and research impact

December 10, 2020

In the context of the OASE ("Open Access Effects") project, funded by the BMBF German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, we cordially invite researchers, librarians, publishers, and other scholarly stakeholders to participate in a virtual conference on "Open access, preprints and research impact".

The conference aims to gather research on studies that shed light on the complex relationship between the structural conditions Open Access (OA) and preprint publishing is embedded in, OA and preprint output, and the impact they generate. Speakers will be represented both from within, and external to the OASE project, and we hope to use this opportunity to spark some discussion between conference participants, and generate new ideas for future research directions.

The conference is free to participate in, but we do ask that participants first register here. Participants will receive a Zoom link upon registration.

Follow-up workshop (December 11, 2020)

On the day following the OASE virtual conference, we will be holding a small follow-up workshop to discuss the main conference findings in focus groups of diverse scholarly stakeholders. The follow-up workshop will last no more than three hours (15:00 - 18:00, GMT+1), and participants will be rewarded with €50 for their efforts in participating. Due to the need to keep the workshop to a manageable size, attendance will be by invitation only, however you may register your interest via the conference registration form. We cannot guarantee that all those who register their interest will be invited to attend.
