Our goal is to ensure that we are cultivating local and diverse aspiring Special Education Teachers who will act as the hub of support and services for students with disabilities at their school sites, ensuring an asset based, resourceful, and healing centered approach to serving as an Education Specialist.
We support Teacher Residents while they earn an Education Specialist Credential, plus a Master's in Special Education, from Alder GSE while working in OUSD for at least 4 years.
Residency Timeline and Outcome
At Alder GSE, Teacher Residents earn a Master of Arts degree and an Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Mod Special Education. This one year program is 37 credit units and tuition was about $20,500 for the 2022-23 school year. Tuition for 2023-24 will be set by December 2022.
