The City in Spires - A Tour of Wren Churches
The City skyline is famous for it’s delightful church spires. After the Great Fire of London Sir Christopher Wren (1632/1723) rebuilt 51 churches on this guided tour. You'll see several of the finest places of worship, St Stephen Walbrook, St Marylebone and 6 other churches.
Wren gave the City some wonderful churches, many of which survive today. Each one is different, and on this walk we’ll look at some of the developments in design. As we look at some of them we can see Wren trying out new features which he would then use somewhere else.
Times of tour is 11am-1pm, with a coffee break in between.
