Program Idea 1: GlobalQuake but for Weather/EAS alerts

This idea has 2 parts...
Context: GlobalQuake is a program that lets you track earthquakes in real time via a GUI and a spinny globe:
P1: (Weather)
Like some mobile apps, the spinny globe would have the thermometer map as the primary layer, then have some other layers dedicated to other info (wind, air quality, precipitation, humidity, etc.) The bar on the right could display basic info on specific locations you select. This could have the same sources for weather as the Breezy Weather Android app.
(Concept. very loosely based on the actual data from OpenWeather on that hour)
P2: (EAS alerts)
Similar to how the Foss Public Alert Server displays alerts, I think it would be cool to use its data and API to make a "GlobalEAS" program to track emergency alerts instead of earthquakes.
