Dr. Okhee Lee, served on the NGSS writing team and led the NGSS Diversity and Equity Team. Her research focuses on equity in science for all students, particularly English language learners. Dr. Lee received a 2019 Innovations in Research on Equity and Social Justice in Teacher Education Award from the American Educational Research Association .

Dr. Kyndall Brown's work focuses on making mathematics accessible to all students regardless of their racial or ethnic background, gender, language proficiency, or academic abilities. Brown encourages educators to learn to teach with consideration for students' varied skill levels and the "real world" relevance of mathematics.

Dr. Jevon Hunter’s scholarly interests explore learning and pedagogy as they impact urban youth, families and teachers with special emphasis on African-American and Latina/o populations. His focus is on understanding how culture, history, and language intersect with learning, literacy, and technology and related social justice and equity implications.
