Created in 2021, these Earth Week activities can be used any year (or month)! Each day features a reading, a video, an activity and an action you can explore with your students. To make this document applicable to your students, please download a copy of this document to edit.
Action: Identify and protect a street tree in your neighborhood. Use NYC Parks Department “Street Tree Finder” to identify, locate and take care of a tree near your home or school.

Activity: Classroom Waste Audit.
Action: Set up a recycling station in your home. Using what you have, design a place for you and your family to sort your waste! DSNY “What to Recycle”

Activity: Explore MIT’s Climate Scenario Calculator to see how different scenarios impact the future.
Action: Become a Climate Ambassador and commit to discussing climate change with three new people this week.
Activity: EcoRise “Personal Energy Audit”
Action: 1 Hour, No Power. Spend one hour using no electricity! Don’t turn on the lights, use your phone, watch TV, or play on the computer. Can you complete the challenge? Earth Hour “Give an Hour”
