After a five-year pause, the Office of the Institutional Supreme Student Council (ISSC) is set to revive its flagship 3-Day Leadership Camp this coming first semester, aiming to bring together over 200 outstanding student leaders from the University Student Body Organizations (SBO).
In a planning session held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the ISSC met with Mr. Vons Fernandez, a representative from the Waray-Waray Youth Advocates, to discuss the groundwork for the long-anticipated event. Among the key preparations tackled were the transportation logistics and accommodations for invited speakers and facilitators who will lead the camp’s workshops and leadership-building sessions.
Present during the planning were ISSC Vice President and Project Head Jonathan Peru, ISSC President Revy Magallano, ISSC Secretary John Michael Giray, and SBO Director Maria Lourdes Mae V. Billate.
This collaboration marks the start of preparations for an event designed to reignite student engagement and cultivate responsible, dynamic campus leadership.
“This is an exciting opportunity for students to show how our Norwesian leaders can be capable of making real impact, we are not just excited but we are thankful for this initiative from our partners.” said President Revy Magallano, expressing his enthusiasm for the camp's return.
Meanwhile, SBO Director, Maria Lourdes Mae Billate says the goal of the camp is not only to train leaders—but to empower voices and build a stronger, more unified student movement within NWSSU.
The Leadership Camp is expected to feature intensive training sessions, team-building activities, and dialogue spaces that promote transformational leadership aligned with student-centered values and institutional goals.
Stay tuned for more updates as the ISSC continues to finalize the details of this landmark student initiative.
