Kelli Duncan

Kelli is a doctoral student in euphonium performance and graduate teaching assistant at the University of Oregon, studying with primary instructor Mike Grose. She has a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Performance Pedagogy from Arizona State University, having studied with Dr. Deanna Swoboda, Sam Pilafian, and Dr. Pat Stuckemeyer. Comfortable with many musical styles, she is interested in expanding the performance scope of the euphonium in the public eye. Throughout her career, she performed in a broad spectrum of ensembles and performance opportunities including jazz bands, wind ensemble, orchestras, tuba/euphonium choir, trombone choir, alternative rock band, brass quintet, and brass band.

As an educator, Kelli frequently partners with middle and high schools to work with brass sections, jazz bands, and to lead breathing and technique clinics. She served as Low Brass Coordinator for the brass staff for The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps in Tempe, Arizona for five years and was a graduate employee for the University of Oregon marching band in the 2021-2022 academic year. She previously served as head of brass instruction for the marching bands at Desert Ridge High School, Chandler High School, and Casa Grande Union High School, and was a trombone technician with the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band. Kelli has a deep love for the pageantry arts and is always looking for new opportunities in teaching, design, and judging!

Kelli will be performing in a shared euphonium recital with Kaitlin Oresky.  Stay tuned for more information!
