About NWCL
NWCL conducts comprehensive research on next-generation mobile communication systems, including 5G-Advanced and 6G. Building upon strong fundamentals in wireless communications, our primary focus is on maximizing system efficiency and seamless connectivity. Our core research areas include:
3GPP-based Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN): To overcome the coverage limitations of traditional terrestrial networks, we research the design and optimization of 5G/6G NR NTN-based Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems.
3GPP-based Random Access: We focus on optimizing MAC and PHY layers to support massive machine-type communications (mMTC), resolve access collisions, and minimize latency in complex multiple-access environments.
Mobility management: We focus on advanced mobility management to support reduced latency (e.g., Release 18 L1/L2 Triggered Mobility (LTM))
AI-empowered Wireless Communications: We apply advanced AI and machine learning algorithms to solve complex challenges in wireless systems, including intelligent resource allocation, channel state prediction, and adaptive network management.
