Nonviolent Communication Training
Supporting Individuals and Organizations in Tennessee,
surrounding areas, and online
"The objective of Nonviolent Communication is not to change people and their behavior in order to get our way: it is to establish relationships based on honesty and empathy, which will eventually fulfill everyone's needs." --Marshall Rosenberg
Welcome to NVCTN - a partnership dedicated to making a world that works for everyone.
We offer trainings to support individuals and groups with communication skills that foster empathic listening, and authentica expression. Our work is aimed to build connection first. Workshops are taylored to meet the needs of our clients, while remaining grounded in the consciousness of nonviolent communication, founded by Marshall Rosenberg.
Nonviolent Communication is a powerful and effective skill that restores connection - connection to what matters to us, and what matters to others.
Founded by Marshall Rosenberg, author of "Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life," Nonviolent Communication is based on the principle of Ahimsa — the natural state of compassion when no violence is present in the heart. Nonviolent Communication is more than a process; it is a way of being in the world with the intention of serving life. We prioritize connection, care, accountability, and choice.
NVC builds bridges, supports us in identifying the universal human needs that drive our every behavior, expressing authentically, and hearing others compassionately. As we grow in awareness, we choose based on our higest values, with reverence for the "Beloved Divine Energy" we all share.

“My own journey through a life- threatening illness has shown me the power we have within us, when we learn how to communicate to ourselves and others, with care and respect. Today I'm passionate about coaching individuals and groups seeking to overcome difficult circumstances, with skills that naturally maximize their potential.
What Makes NVC Unique?
Broad Application: NVC can radically alter any relational dynamic, from interpersonal relationships to international negotiations; personal healing to conflict resolution; social change to trauma recovery.
Results Are Substantial: NVC helps transform anger, destructive attitudes and habitual behaviors into more peaceful, life-serving actions. Around the globe, NVC has contributed to a significant reduction in violence in some of the most war-torn regions. NVC helps individuals, families and organizations reduce conflict, foster trust, deepen emotional connections, heal pain and strengthen personal empowerment.
How is NVC different from other self-help, communication or conflict resolution tools?
NVC begins by assuming that we are all compassionate by nature and that violent strategies—whether verbal or physical—are behaviors adapted for survival to meet cultural norms. It also assumes we all share the same, basic human needs, and that all behaviors are strategies to meet these needs.
NVC offers an effective four-step communication process that’s easy to grasp.
NVC goes beyond communication techniques by showing us how to stay connected to the life energy in ourselves and others. It supports us in staying conscious of the impact our thinking and language has on others.
