I learnt that having a world vision means seeing the world through God’s perspective so that we can have hope in this world and go fourth to make disciples of Jesus of all nations. While world vision can sound quite daunting, I learnt that we can live out world vision in our local ministry. What impressed me most from the World Vision workshop was the diagram that our workshop leader used to describe our role as disciples and our role as mentors in our mission to fulfil the world vision. While the diagram showed how a network of disciples can be created when an individual commits his or her time to help and train another individual in his or her current ministry, it also showed how the network effect can be broken if any one of these individuals decides not to be committed to the discipleship.
From this, I learnt that the way I can start adopting world vision is simply by being committed in my own discipleship training so that both myself and others can continue to be strengthened and walk in the light of Christ.
