Please remember to get flu shots for your children!
🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
Our office is located in the Lower School Building by the gym and is stocked with medications such as Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, antacids and Benadryl. We also have first aid supplies on hand as well as individual emergency medications such as inhalers, glucose tabs and Epipens. Please let us know anytime there is a change to your child's health needs.
School Policy on Illness
If a student or faculty member is experiencing cold/flu like symptoms, they should remain at home until their symptoms are improving AND they have been fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications containing acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin).
There are no requirements for COVID that are different from what we ask you to do for any other viral illness. MCS does not require COVID testing. If you choose to test, you do not need to notify the school and you do not need to re-test prior to returning to school. There are no requirements pertaining to wearing a mask, however you may wear a mask at school if you choose to do so.
School Policy on Head Lice
If you suspect your child has head lice or has come into contact with someone who has head lice, check their hair and scalp carefully for multiple days. If you find that your child does have head lice, treat them immediately with over the counter shampoo such as NIX, RID or Ivermectin. This process should typically be repeated in 1 week to make sure all lice have been killed. If there are still live lice present, call your child’s doctor and obtain a prescription for treatment. Please contact the school nurse and report that your child has head lice, so we can work to reduce the chance of other students getting lice.
If your child is found to have live lice while at school, you will be contacted and asked to take your child home to start the treatment process. If your child is in a class where lice is discovered, the school nurse will check your child for lice, and you will be notified. Students may return to school once there are no live bugs present.
Thank you for visiting our site and allowing us to participate in the care of your child. We recommend the website www.healthychildren.org if you have specific questions relating to the health of your child, or you can always contact your child's pediatrician.
