numinous films: PRODUCTION TEAM

Joël René Scoville

Writer, Executive Producer, Director
Joël began writing as a child once she realized that was the best way to see her dreams come to life. A bit of a drama queen as well as a hopeless romantic, her passion for writing stems from her love of stories about the complexity of the human spirit and unrequited love. A self-proclaimed feminist (which makes relationships and raising three sons challenging), she is determined to showcase various sides of the female psyche and to remind women, as well as herself, that they matter.
Joël wrote the book for, Take On Me: A Jazz Musical, created and orchestrated by Wilkie Ferguson, III, with direction and choreography by Jamal Sims, and produced in Los Angeles, CA. She recently had a reading of her original play, The Long Way Home with Broadway star, Sharon Wilkins and she is currently completing an original musical, Two and One. In addition to writing for the stage, she has completed a tv pilot that is a historical drama, The Girls on the Hill.
At the age of 16 she started crying and was unable to stop for two weeks. Since then she has battled with depression, and this battle led her to create Crazy With a K. She hopes that if she can help just one person, this project will have been worth it.
In addition to her Costco card , Joël is a proud member of Actor's Equity and the Dramatists Guild. She's also an actress, but you can read that bio further down the page. “Crazy with a K” is her first web-series.
