8.8.1 Similar Polygons

Definitions:

• Similar Polygons --> Polygons that have the same shape, but are not necessarily the same size.  

  • Sides must be proportional to each other

  • Corresponding angles must be congruent

• Corresponding --> The parts of the similar figures that "match" each other

• Scale Factor --> The ratio of the lengths of two corresponding sides of two similar polygons
