8.7.1 Classify Angles

Definitions:

• • Congruent --> Having the same angle measure (could also mean having the same side length)

  • Vertex --> The point where two lines meet at a point

  • Acute Angle --> An angle that is less than 90 degrees

  • Right Angle --> An angle that is exactly 90 degrees

  • Obtuse Angle --> An angle that is greater than 90 degrees, but less than 180 degrees

  • Straight Angle --> An angle that is exactly 180 degrees

  • Vertical Angle --> Opposite angles that are formed by two intersecting lines, the opposite angles are congruent

  • Adjacent Angle --> Angles that share a common side and vertex, these angles, when added together, will total 180 degrees
