Definitions

• • Coordinate Plane --> Grid-like system used to locate specific points, made up of two different number lines

  • Origin --> The point of intersection of the two number lines

  • x-Axis --> The horizontal number line

  • y-Axis --> The vertical number line

  • Quadrants --> The four sections of the coordinate plane

  • Ordered Pairs --> A pair of numbers that  can be used to graph points on the coordinate plane

  • x-Coordinate --> The first number in an ordered pair

  • y-Coordinate --> The second number in an ordered pair

  • Relation --> Any set (or group) of ordered pairs

  • Domain --> The set of x-values  in a relation

  • Range --> The set of y-values in a relation
