***Good morning/afternoon 7th grade. Sorry that I could not be in the classroom today, but I feel worse today than I did yesterday. Today's lesson is relatively easy to understand. We are trying to figure out the volume of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms.
The formulas to figure these out are as follows:
Rectangular Prisms --> Volume = length x width x height, or lwh
Triangular Prisms --> Volume = length x width x height ÷ 2
Be sure to label your answers with Cubic Units of Measure. If you are confused by what that means, check below the definitions at the 3 examples that are given, and you will see how to correctly label your answers.
Make sure to copy down the definitions and two of the examples for your notes.
Be sure to follow the directions for each homework section as well.
Volume --> The measure of space in a 3-D figure
Rectangular Prism --> A prism that has rectangular bases
Triangular Prism --> A prism that has triangular bases
