6.8.4 Triangles

Definitions

• • Triangle --> A figure with three sides and three angles

    • The sum of all angles in any triangle will be 180 degrees

  • Acute Triangle --> All angles in the triangle are acute

  • Right Triangle --> A triangle with exactly one right angle

  • Obtuse Triangle --> A triangle with exactly one obtuse angle

  • Scalene Triangle --> A triangle with no congruent sides (all sides are different lengths)

  • Isosceles Triangle --> A triangle with at least two congruent sides (a pair of sides are the same length)

  • Equilateral Triangle --> A triangle where all sides are congruent (all sides are the same length)

  • Triangle Inequality Theorem --> An idea that says that the sum of the measures of any two sides of any triangle is greater than the measure of the third side
