This is just an illustration showing that we still need to simplify the ratio at the end.

This problem demonstrates how to pull out different bits of information to combine them into a ratio. Notice that 3 students preferred fruit gum out of the 21 total responses. This can be written as the ratio 3:21 or 1:7 in its simplest form.
