Definitions

• • Outcomes --> A possible result of a probability experiment

  • Simple Events --> One outcome or a collection of outcomes

  • Probability --> The chance that something will occur

  • Complementary Events --> Two events in which either one or the other must happen, but they cannot happen at the same time

  • Odds in Favor --> The ratio that compares the number of ways the event can occur to the ways that the event cannot occur
