When dividing a decimal by a whole number:
Divide the problem how you normally would without worrying about the decimal
Solve the problem
Bring the decimal point straight up from its spot in the dividend
<----- You will notice that a 0 is added after the 7.7 in order to continue the division problem. The reason why we can do this is because 7.7 is the same as 7.70. In fact, we could add as many zeroes as needed until we solve the problem.
