Around the World is special for many reasons - the idea for this game came spontaneously while I was walking through the Feira da Ladra (Flea Market) in Lisbon. I spotted an old globe at an antique shop, and decided to make a game which would use it as a controller. We fitted a laser inside the globe, attached it to the dial, and detected the latitude and longitude of the location the laser is pointing to using an encoder and potentiometer, connected to an Arduino Nano.

The result? A geographic quiz game that is incredibly fun to play, and has been exhibited at the Lisbon Games Week 2024 and IGVX International VFX and GD Conference Bratislava 2025.
