Beginner's Nubi

This course is planned for those who wish to learn to speak Nubi as a beginner. The authors hope it will help Nubi youths who wish to speak their cool wazee's tongue as well as foreign students who wish to enjoy the unique Arabic-based creole as spoken in the multilingual East African metropolises.

Each lesson includes a conversation text with a sound file (recorded by Yakub Hassan and Zaria Hussein in September 2019) followed by grammatical and cultural notes.

The main texts of this course are based on New Express Swahili by Keiko Takemura (Tokyo: Hakusuisha, 2010), a concise introduction to Swahili for Japanese students.
