Automatic optical inspection based on Industry 4.0 for machine tool calibration and process

This technology is designed for the detection of the back hole (as shown in Figure 2) and front hole (as shown in Figure 3) of medical dispensers (as shown in Figure 1). Through computer vision technology and optical instruments, the size of the hole diameter (as shown in Figure 4, Video 1, and Video 2) is measured to determine whether the hole diameter of the medical dispenser is within the tolerance range and to reject defective products that do not meet the specifications. Since medical dispensers are medical-related materials, their specifications are more rigorous, and the allowable tolerance often needs to be accurate to 10 micrometers. Suppose operators carry out the defect detection with such accuracy. In that case, it may lead to inaccurate detection due to visual fatigue of the operator or the inspection time being too long. Using automatic optical inspection algorithms and industrial cameras to remove defective parts can achieve consistency in each inspection and reduce the influence of human factors.
