Background Subtraction

In intelligent surveillance systems, computer vision techniques are used to analyze the images captured by cameras automatically. This analysis includes object tracking, identification, and behavior analysis. The development of surveillance systems with decision-making mechanisms aims to increase the convenience of security personnel, allowing them to receive alert notifications when unusual individuals or events are detected (such as violence, intrusion by strangers, children playing with electrical appliances, climbing stairs, elderly falling, and abnormal behavior of employees). Firstly, the objects are separated by distinguishing the foreground from the background. This allows for object tracking and behavior recognition, among other surveillance functions.
