FOREWORD

We are from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. We are currently looking into sharing interesting and relevant content regarding Synthetic Biology. While competing in a competition, iGEM, we were fascinated by how Synthetic Biology impacted the World. Hence, this educational website is created.

What is iGEM?

iGEM stands for Internationally Genetically Engineered Machine competition, which is held every year. Teams from all over the world create their very own synthetic biology project, where they aim to solve a problem. Using the applications of synthetic biology, the teams will try to design their own solution to the problem of their choice.

What is synthetic biology?

Synthetic biology is a multidisciplinary field, where engineering methods are applied to give already existing organisms new capabilities.
