This site contains all the important information for the Ontario South Regional Festival, taking place April 9-12, 2019.
Programme:
The proof copy of the programme is shown below. Please check the following and email hamiltondramafest@gmail.com BY NOON ON MONDAY 6 APRIL if there are any issues. If I don't hear from you by then I will assume it's all OK.
Timeslot:
A tentative schedule is shown below. Please arrive 20 minutes BEFORE your tech time for load-in (which does not count as part of your tech time).
Registration Form:
The registration form is available here: https://forms.gle/vCQ3WhTwmuXnxvab9. Through the registration form, you can submit ALL of the other documents for the festival; e.g. script, programme page, artistic statement, etc. Our adjudicator has requested electronic versions of the script; high-quality PDFs are preferred. Please submit the registration form and all attachments by Thursday, 4 April. We will send out a proof copy of the programme and a finalized schedule on 5 March.
Registration Fee:
The registration fee for this year's regional festival is $500 flat-rate. There is NO per-student fee. Please bring a cheque with you to your tech rehearsal. If you need an invoice to get the cheque processed, you can use the attached invoice template (just fill in the name of your school). About the Adjudicator:
The Adjudicator for the Ontario South Region 2019 is Treasa Levasseur. She is fully bilingual.
Treasa Levasseur is a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter with 3 full length albums and 2 EPs. She plays accordion, mandolin, and piano in many bands, as well as fronting her own project. She recently wrote a one woman one act play about her journey as a musician, which is in workshop and was presented in August at Hugh’s Room. Treasa is a regular columnist on CBC’s The Next Chapter, a graduate of Ryerson Theatre School’s acting program, and a long time collaborator with Fixt Point Theatre. Currently, Treasa sits on the board of the Hamilton Arts Council, coordinates the Developing Artist Program at Folk Music Ontario, and serves as the Canadian Representative for Folk Alliance International. In 2018, Treasa (and her colleague Jody Boston) presented a 3-part performance project called Showgame Showdown at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, led a choir at Summerfolk Festival, served as musical director for two camps at Theatre Aquarius, and facilitated improv music classes for youth with lived experience of adversity at the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton. Treasa is excited to be part of this year’s NTS Festival team!
