Saturday, Aug. 8 - New to NSSKA or new to paddling skills session #2, Lake Goodwin. We will work on developing individual and group skills ... rescues, edging, boat control, balance and paddle strokes just to start. Sign up required with Bill Porter.

Saturday, Aug. 15 - New to NSSKA, new to paddling skills session 3, Deception Pass area. This is our introduction to salt water paddling and experiencing currents, eddy lines, whirlpools, etc. We will continue to work on rescues, edging, boat control, balance and paddle strokes and of course having FUN! Sept. 13 - Tri-Club Picnic at Bowman Bay, Deception Pass State Park. Our annual festivities with the Hole in the Wall (Anacortes) and WAKE (Bellingham) kayak clubs.
CANCELED: Sept 17-20 - Annual San Juan Island car-camping, eating, and kayaking with Tim Hallmark and Sam Magill.
Sept. 19-20 or Oct. 23-25: American Canoe Association Sea Kayaking Instructor Certification Workshops: Level 2. Locations TBA. Participants should possess the paddling skills, technical knowledge, rescue ability, teaching ability, group management, and interpersonal skills commensurate with this level of certification prior to presenting themselves for evaluation as Instructor Candidates at an Instructor Certification Workshop.
