The eighth annual conference in the series on Network Science and Economics will take place from March 3-5, 2023 at Virginia Tech (Blacksburg, Virginia). The conference is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, with additional support from the Economics Department and College of Science at Virginia Tech and is part of an NSF-sponsored series entitled "Network Science in Economics". The first day of the workshop (Friday, March 3) will be a one-track special theme session, Econometrics: Theory and Applications. The remaining day and a half of the program will run with multiple parallel sessions welcoming topics in the series' broader theme of networks in economics and a poster session.

Air Travel
Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport in Roanoke, Va., is served by major domestic airlines. Driving time from the airport to campus is approximately 40-50 minutes depending on traffic.
The Smart Way Bus offers regularly scheduled service between the airport and Squires Student Center in Blacksburg.

Driving to Virginia Tech
To reach the campus from Interstate 81 (southbound and northbound):
Take Exit 118 to reach the exit ramps for all three of the exits at this location. There is only one exit ramp serving the exits; missing the ramp means a trip north to Exit 128 or south to Exit 114 to turn around.
Take Exit 118B onto U.S. 460 West. This exit connects directly to the Christiansburg Bypass. Follow the signs for Blacksburg/Virginia Tech.
To reach the campus from Interstate 77 (northbound):
Take exit 32 onto I-81 North. Continue for about 36 miles to Exit 118. There is only one exit ramp serving multiple exits; missing the ramp means a trip north to Exit 128 to turn around.
Take Exit 118B onto U.S. 460 West, then follow the directions above.

Other ways to get to Blacksburg
Fly to Washington DC (Dulles Airport for international, and also National Airport if you are travelling domestic):
Megabus and Ourbus offers scheduled service between the Washington DC/Dulles Airport and Squires Student Center in Blacksburg. Here is the link to the Megabus bus/Virginia breeze routes: https://virginiabreeze.org/routes/
Look at the Blacksburg to Washington DC/Washington DC to Blacksburg Schedule. Please pay careful attention to date and time.
You can also rent a car from the airport in Washington DC and drive. It is about a 4-5 hour drive depending on traffic..
Fly to Charlotte Airport in North Carolina and rent a car. This drive is around 3 hours. There are no direct bus services as of yet.
