The Anti-Narcotics programme is conducted for secondary two cadets in collaboration with the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA). This programme aims to heighten awareness of the threats of drug abuse, encourage cadets to understand the importance of drug prevention and to prevent self and others from becoming victims of drug abuse.
For 2022, no SANA workshops are planned and cadets will instead read the SANA booklet provided (softcopy) and attempt the online practice and then the actual online assessment. The passing mark for the online assessment is 80%.
Following the assessment, cadets (as a group) must plan and execute an anti-drug advocacy project to be done and implemented in school. Using photos and reflections of the process and final product, cadets would need to do an online posting on any of the unit's social media with the hashtag, #npccsana2022. Please tag @npcchq and @singaporeantinarcotics in the post.
Teacher Officers will provide the link to the online post and nominal roll via the badges submission form. Upon verification by HQ, officers can proceed to award their cadets the SANA badge.
To help cadets prepare for the adventure and survival camps on Pulau Ubin at Camp Resilience, officers would need to conduct campcraft lessons with the aid of their CIs and cadet leaders to ensure cadets know how to:
tie specific knots and lashings,
pitch tents, gadgets and flagpoles
After which, officers would need to do their internal assessments of the cadet's proficiency in the campcraft skills in order to award the campcraft badge. Officers may refer to the Campcraft requirements guide for more reference.
For Sec 2 and 3 ubin camp, you may refere to the ATC / STC guide.
The Civil Defence badge is structured for secondary two cadets to help cadets gain an understanding of core lifesaving skills and essential emergency procedures which they can apply to help others. Tapping on the modules offered under the SCDF's Community Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP), cadets will complete both Level 1 "I AM SAFE" and Level 2 "RESPONSE READY" modules of the CEPP.
*The course requirements for 2022 are completed fully online.
*Since 19 August 2021, the SCDF has resumed on-site training for the practical hands-on training in Level 2. However, due to the evolving SMMs, we will not require cadets to attend the practical components on-site, as per our practice for UOPA 2021. Officers may still consider sending their cadets for the on-site training if MOE SMMs and school leaders allow for it.
