Kambria Cook is a graduate student from Richmond, Virginia studying Musical Theatre at Arizona State University. She graduated from Claflin University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. During her undergrad, she participated in very few shows. Therefore, she is excited to have the opportunity to be in her third show at Arizona State. She has enjoyed working with the cast and crew and witnessing the hard work it takes to put on a big show. She would like to thank her family for flying out to see her and she hopes that everyone enjoys the show!
Understudy/Ensemble
Beaux Mali they/them, is so excited to be a part of Pippin. They are in their junior year pursuing a double major in Music Theater Performance and Social Justice & Human Rights. Some of their previous favorite roles include Cinderella in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Josephine in Big Fish, and Dancer in Arizona State University’s production of Head Over Heels. Pippin is one of Beaux’s favorite shows and they are thrilled to be a part of such an amazing cast!
Jessica Lester is thrilled to be a part of ASU's production of Pippin. She is a senior in her final semester and will be receiving her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre in May. Some of her favorite past roles include Lizzie Borden in LIZZIE (ASU) and the Bless the Lord Disciple in Godspell (ASU). She was most recently seen in Phoenix Theatre's Festival of New American Theatre as a vocalist in Magritte & Rosen's Composer/Lyricist Cabaret. Chan Jaijam Wannapat is a singer/performer from Thailand. She is pursuing her Master degree in Musical Theatre Vocal Performance and thrilled to be a part of Pippin at ASU. She has performed on various stages and roles including Thai musical theatre original shows, Adara from Luna The Immersive Musical, Witch from Into The Woods, Carmen from Fame, Almost There concert (solo cabaret), and she is the voice of Thailand’s Mirabel from Disney’s Encanto. Tre Moore He/Him, is thrilled and honored to be a part of bringing Pippin to life. A second-year Barrett Honors student, Tre is double majoring in Music Theatre and Business Entrepreneurship. Past shows with ASU MTO include Into the Woods (Jack, ariZoni nom), Little Women (Laurie), and Daughter of the Regiment (Soldier's Chorus). Other productions include Newsies (Jack Kelly, ariZoni Award), Let the Good Times Roll: A New Orleans Gumbo (TPTC Festival of New American Theatre, Jerry Lee), and Joseph…(Joseph). 2022 ASU Gammage HSMTA Best Lead Male and 2022 Jimmy Awards nominee. Prescott Smidt is excited to be back onstage at Arizona State University! He is a sophomore in Barrett, The Honors College, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre, a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy, and a Spanish minor. Charles (Charlemagne)
Henry Dyson He/Him/His is known for his spontaneous and committed choices in his acting work. He is a proud Black artist raised in Pasadena, California. His charming yet commanding stage presence has allowed him to play roles such as Charlemagne in “Pippin”, Jack Kelly in “Newsies”, and Omari in “Pipeline”, being 6 foot 3 also helps. Regionally, Henry took on 3 tracks as an Ensemble Swing in The Phoenix Theatre Company’s “Dreamgirls” and acted in their festival of new works in the role of Tripp in “The Consoling Mechanism.” His passion for acting also reaches television and film. Having acted in several short films he is as comfortable in front of the camera as he is on stage. He appreciates the nuances in acting approaches on stage versus film. His other passions include baseball, being an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan, plants, and taking his bearded dragon Gus to the store.
Charles (Charlemagne) Understudy/Ensemble
Liam Boyd (He/Him/His) is a charismatic, grounded, and passionate artist who is known for the authenticity and charm that he brings into every room. Growing up, Liam found himself drawn to a wide array of creative outlets, such as drumming, fancy-trick rodeo roping, Irish-step dancing (for which he’s ranked tenth in the world), alongside his love of singing and acting. This cross training continually motivates him to gain new perspectives on life and instill those perspectives into his artistry. Liam has appeared as both Jamie in the Last Five Years and the Baker in Into the Woods at Arizona State University. Regionally, he has performed in Bandstand, the Prom, ELF the musical, and more! Liam aims to inspire and motivate audiences through genuine storytelling. Kyleigh Perales is thankful to be a part of the Color Cabaret! Currently, she is a Sophomore pursuing her BMUS in Music Theatre (Performance). Recent/ Favorite credits include: Theory of Relativity (Jenny/ Mira), Miss You Like Hell (Ensemble/ Olivia U/S), Head Over Heels (Ensemble). She also recently Stage Managed the MTO Student Lab Production of The Mad Ones. She is beyond grateful for a community like this with MTO and can't wait for you to hear their stories.
Lara Bos is excited to be cast in Pippin at ASU. She is a first-year graduate student in voice performance (Musical Theatre). She got her BA in Theatre Studies in Munich and is here on a Fulbright scholarship. At ASU, she was previously seen as Catherine in the student-led production of Theory of Relativity. Justin Carey (he/him) is thrilled to be playing Lewis in ASU's production of Pippin. Justin was born and raised in the valley and has been performing since he was nine years old. Currently, Justin is finishing up his Bachelor's Degree in Music Theatre Performance at Arizona State University. At ASU he has been seen in The Mad Ones as Adam, in Godspell as a Disciple("Light of the World"), in Head Over Heels as an Arcadian/Basilius understudy and standby for the Narrator, and Rapunzel's Prince in Into the Woods. Justin has also worked on new works including The Valley and Tales from the Amusement Park hosted by The Phoenix Theatre Company: The Festival of New American Theatre.
Nicky Caldwell is ecstatic to be in Pippin! He holds a BM in music theatre performance from Carthage College, and is now a first year masters student pursuing an MM in music theatre performance at ASU. He has performed all over the country and abroad (including Midwestern and European tours). Some of his favorite roles include: Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde, Man 2 in Songs for A New World, and Jerry in Betrayal. Nicky would like to thank his family for their constant support, and he hopes you enjoy the show!
Sonia Rodriguez Wood, she/her/ella was Born in Queens, NY, grew up in South Jersey and Central Florida, and transplanted to Phoenix in 1996. She’s performed at venues all over Phoenix, including AZ Broadway Theatre, Phoenix Theatre Co., Theater Works, and Hale Centre Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include the Lady of the Lake Spamalot, Dominique Du Monaco Lucky Stiff, Abuela Claudia In The Heights, Miss Adelaide Guys and Dolls, Antonia/Aldonza (u/s performed) Man of La Mancha. She is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Theatre Performance at ASU where she last performed as Beatriz in Miss You Like Hell.
This is Kendal Turpin's 2nd season with ASU Music Theatre and Opera. One of her favorite roles she has played is Kelly in The Mad Ones! Shout out to my family for supporting my education and music journey, and special thanks to everyone in the cast and production team for all the hard work, and time that is put into these productions.
Armand Delgado is thrilled to be making his debut with ASU. Select credits: William in Frankenstein (Arizona Opera), Kurt in The Sound of Music (Arizona Opera), Rafael in El Milagro del Recuerdo (Arizona Opera), and Boy in Elf the Musical (The Phoenix Theatre Company). Delgado was the First Place recipient of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Arizona District, 2023 Summer Heat competition for boys ages 10-13 division. Atticus Adair is delighted to be a part of Pippin! Atticus is a first year Music Theatre student in the Barrett Honors College at ASU. He was last seen on the Evelyn Smith stage as Ensemble/Sergeant of Police Understudy in Pirates of Penzance. His favorite previous roles include Charlemagne (Pippin), Zebulun (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), and Samuel (Cows the Moosical). He would like to give a special shoutout to Mom, Dad, Berkeley, Gideon, Grover, and Bear for their unrelenting support.

Lauren Carroll is thrilled to be cast in Pippin at ASU. She is a junior pursuing her Bachelor’s in Music for Musical Theatre Performance. She has performed at various venues including Yavapai Colleges Performing Arts Center, McCallum Fine Arts Academy and Footlight Studios. Her favorite roles include Jo in Little Women, Roxie in Chicago, and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Connor Dunning is so excited to be a part of this production of Pippin. He is currently a junior pursuing a Bachelor’s in Music for Music Theatre Performance. Connor has performed all around the valley all the way from Phoenix Theatre to performing right here at ASU. His favorite roles he has been able to put on have been King Basilius from Head Over Heels, Mo from Miss You Like Hell, and Mr. Green from Clue. He would like to thank his friends, family, cast, and teachers for supporting him. Most importantly he would like to thank the crew for without them we would be nothing.
Jose Antonio Guevara he/him, raised in Southern Arizona, is a Latin American musician, singer, performer, and educator graduating from ASU this year with a BM in Music Learning and Teaching with an emphasis in trumpet pedagogy. During his time at ASU, he has served as the undergraduate co-president of the ASU School of Music, Dance, and Theatre IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accountability) student committee. Jose Antonio is passionate and committed to creating and upholding safe spaces for all especially individuals who come from marginalized groups. He would like to thank his loved ones for all of their support!
Adam Robles s a senior Music Theatre Performance Major at ASU. He performed at Mesa Community College in roles such as Chad in All Shook Up, Man 2 in First Date, and April in Company. He also works there as an intern director for the Magic of Musical Theatre summer workshops. Bri Sieminski she/they is a BMUS Music Theatre Performance major at ASU. Her production credits include Assistant Director and Choreographer for the new musical Theory of Relativity, Subplots at Chandler-Gilbert Community College; and Assistant Director and Dance Captain for Pirates of Penzance at ASU. She has also performed in several musicals and operas at ASU; some of her favorite roles include being Beth in Little Women, Rapunzel in Into The Woods, the “Day by Day” soloist in Godspell and Dance Captain/Ensemble in Head Over Heels. Molly Virtue She/Her, is thrilled to be telling this story! She is a sophomore pursuing her Musical Theatre degree and a minor in Dance. This is Molly’s fifth show at ASU (Pirates of Penzance, Into the Woods, Head Over Heels, Miss You Like Hell). She is a proud recipient of the 2022 Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actress. In her free time, Molly enjoys creating comedic burlesque routines with her roommates and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Qiming Xue is excited to perform in Pippin! She is a graduate student from China majoring in Music Theatre Performance. She was last seen in MTO’s production The Pirates of Penzance. Her favorite roles include Qian Er in Red Sorghum, Cosette in Les Misérables, Grace in Annie, Mary in The Little Match Girl. Toby Yatso (Director, Clinical Assistant Professor of Music Theatre) - Yatso is an actor, musician, and music theatre specialist in performance, direction, and instruction for the Music Theatre and Opera department, and an educational equity cohort coach in the School of Music, Dance and Theatre. Yatso is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, and he was artist-in-residence for The Phoenix Theatre Company for fifteen years. Having performed in dozens of productions for TPTC, Yatso has also performed for The Phoenix Symphony, Stray Cat Theatre, Actors Theatre, Childsplay, and he has directed a Legoland-NY show, various theatrical projects for surrounding AZ companies, and several musicals for ASU including Head Over Heels, The Valley, Runaways, Triassic Parq, Guys and Dolls, Company, Smile, and Bat Boy.
Lindsay Miller (she/her) is currently pursuing a Master's in Music in Conducting (Music Theatre) and working as a TA in the MTO area. Other ASU credits: Miss You Like Hell (music director), Head Over Heels (music director), The Pirates of Penzance (associate conductor), and Into The Woods (rehearsal/pit piano). Hannah Maner She/Her/Hers, is new to the MTO family, with this being her first production! Her recent credits include The Prom, Ain’t Misbehavin, and Big River with Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma and Bright Star and The Children of Eden with Oklahoma Opera & Music Theatre Company. Katherine Bartlett is excited to be a part of her sixth production at Arizona State University. Recent technical theatre credits include stage managing and assistant directing Howland’s Little Women, stage managing and assistant directing Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and stage managing Viardot’s The Last Sorcerer. Katherine is delighted to be a part of the Pippin team and thanks all involved for their hard work in creating this amazing show!
Marissa Barnathan (she/her) – Marissa is pursuing her MFA in Directing at ASU, currently in her 3rd and final year of the program. She hails from Philadelphia, PA, where she worked as a professional theatre artist for 9 years prior to graduate school. Recent productions at ASU include: Miss You Like Hell (Director/Choreographer), The Theory of Relativity (Intimacy Director), The Rake's Progress (Choreographer & Assistant Director), The Wolves (Director), Safe at Home (Choreographer), La Comedia of Errors (Choreo. & Asst. Julian Lamarti is from Westchester, New York. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Music in Conducting with an emphasis on musical theater at Arizona State University, where he is a teaching assistant for the Musical Theater and Opera program. Julian holds a Bachelor's degree in music from Binghamton University, having focused on collaborative piano, orchestral conducting, and music directing. He is incredibly grateful and excited to work alongside the amazing cast and crew.
Jarrett Moncibaez is thrilled to have shadowed the Music side of Pippin including the Music Director Lindsay Miller! Jarrett is Currently a Sophomore Music Theatre & Business Management Double Major. He is highly interested in Music Direction and plans to pursue the Masters Program for Music Direction here at ASU. He is extremely thankful to the production team and Lindsay Miller for allowing him to be a part of the process of making Pippin come to life. This show is a magical journey and he’s excited for each and every one of you to experience the life and times of Pippin!

Brian DeMaris serves as Principal Conductor of Anchorage Opera and Artistic Director of Music Theatre and Opera at Arizona State University. He has led productions with Anchorage Opera, Opera Columbus, El Paso Opera, Mill City Summer Opera, Syracuse Opera, Tri-Cities Opera, Ash Lawn Opera, American Lyric Theatre, and American Opera Projects. He has served as Associate Conductor of New York City Opera, Assistant Conductor of Florida Grand Opera and Glimmerglass Opera, Resident Conductor of Ashlawn Opera Festival, and Répétiteur at Opera Theater of Saint Louis. He has appeared at the United Nations, the Aspen Music Festival, Boston’s Jordan Hall, New York’s Studio 54, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Alice Tully Hall, and in recitals, competitions, and master classes throughout the United States and abroad. He is the 2nd place winner of the 2013 and 2015 American Prize in Opera and Musical Theater Conducting. He was previously Director of Opera and Musical Theatre at Ithaca College and founding Music Director of the Mill City Summer Opera in Minneapolis.
The Music Theatre and Opera program in the School of Music at Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is committed to preparing outstanding music theatre and opera artists for professional careers in the 21st century. Through expert individual and classroom instruction, the production of operas and musicals, student-led workshops, new work development, research opportunities, dynamic community engagement and multiple professional collaborations, we foster a creative, student-centered environment that enables students to discover who they are as individuals and artists, at their own pace, in their own unique way, at the highest level.
