Jazmin Noel Moehring has been performing since the third grade and has debuted in roles like Sandy Cheeks in Arizona Broadway Theatre’s The SpongeBob Musical, and the “Turn Back Oh Man” soloist in ABT’s Godspell, as well as graced The Phoenix Theatre Stage in The Color Purple. At ASU, she most recently played Marmee in Little Women, and will be graduating in May with a BA in Theatre and a minor in music theatre. She hopes to continue performing for the little Jaz that felt underrepresented and unseen, and for the little girls now who feel the same.

Liam Boyd is currently a junior musical theatre student at Arizona State University. Roosevelt Tre Moore He/Him, is honored and thrilled to be in Into the Woods. He is a first-year Barrett student studying Music Theatre and Business Entrepreneurship. Past shows include Little Women (ASU MTO, Laurie), Daughter of the Regiment (ASU MTO, Soldier's Chorus), Joseph...(Joseph), and Newsies (Jack Kelly, ariZoni Award). Josh Pike is currently a Freshman at ASU pursuing his BMUS in Vocal Performance. Some of his favorite past roles include Curly in Oklahoma (Spotlight Youth Theatre), Officer Lockstock in Urinetown (Arizona Broadway Theater), and John the Baptist/Judas in Godspell (Arizona Broadway Theater). He would like to thank Kate, Wesley, Andy, and Brian for their wonderful direction, his mom and dad for their endless support, and Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine for writing one of the most truthful pieces of theater ever written.
Desmond Woodward couldn't be happier that Into the Woods is his final production here at ASU. Prior to his time at ASU he received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Chapman University. During his time here he has had the privilege of studying voice under the instruction of Professor Nathan De'Shon Myers. White at ASU he had the opportunity to portray the roles of Jimmy Ray in Bright Star, Jesus in Godspell, and most recently Pythio in Head Over Heels. All the gratitude and love to the entire production team and cast. Have so much fun in Chicago, Kate!
Carlie Beckert grew up in Utah and graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance. She was most recently seen in ASU’s production of The Rake’s Progress as Mother Goose and Daughter of the Regiment as the Marquis. She has also performed with UVU Opera, UVAA Opera, and Utah Festival Opera holding leading and supporting roles: Prince Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Gertrude (Romeo et Juliette), Third Lady (Magic Flute), Flora (La Traviata), and ensemble (Carmen, Magic Flute, and The Tenderland). Thank you to the amazing MTO faculty, this amazing cast, and all of you for coming to support.
Bri Sieminski She/They, is a junior BMUS Music Theatre major at ASU. Some of her favorite roles include being Beth in Little Women, the “Day by Day” soloist in Godspell and Dance Captain/Ensemble in Head Over Heels.
Matt Griesgraber is a Junior Musical Theatre Major! He has been seen in other ASU MTO productions such as Godspell (“All Good Gifts”), Bright Star (Billy Cane), Head Over Heels (Ensemble/Musidorus U/S), and also a chorus member in both Daughter of The Regiment and The Rakes Progress. Aydan Bruce She/Her/Hers is thrilled to be playing the role of Cinderella’s Stepmother. Aydan is in her Senior year pursuing a BM in Musical Theatre Performance. Some of her favorite previous roles include Pamela in Head Over Heels, Rona Lisa Peretti in The 25th Annual...Spelling Bee, and Lucy in Bright Star. In her freetime, Aydan can be found playing guitar, songwriting, hiking, or making music with her friends. She is moving to NYC in May 2023, and has dreams of traveling the world, originating a role, and releasing an album of her original music. Gabrielle Gernon She/Her, is a sophomore pursuing her Bachelor’s in Music for Music Theatre Performance. Previous appearances in ASU productions include Gingerbread Chorus in Hansel and Gretel, Soprano/Soloist in Songs from Liquid Days, and Swing for #2 and #8 in the play Wolves. Back home in Louisiana she performed many different roles in various productions, her favorites include Patty in Beehive and Kira in Xanadu. Matt Villar He/Him, is a performer and composer currently in his final semester of study at Arizona State University. Recent performance credits include The Rake's Progress, Songs from Liquid Days, 600 Square Feet, La bohème, and The 25th...Spelling Bee. In March, Matt debuted a musical theatre song cycle which he wrote and directed titled, Tales from the Amusement Park, which will be feautured at The Festival of New American Theatre at The Phoenix Theatre Company on April 22. Alicia Marisol Werner is so excited to be involved in ASU MTO’s production of Into The Woods! Alicia is currently finishing Junior year of her undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance, and has been involved with various MTO productions, including The Rake’s Progress this past Fall. Alicia would like to say, “The whole process of getting to know this show has been amazing, the cast and creative team is outstanding! Shaul Leket-Mor He/Him, is a first year graduate student at ASU. He finished his undergraduate studies at the Peabody Institute in 2017. He was previously in the opera choruses of The Rake’s Progress, Il Tabarro, and Pride and Prejudice. He has been performing professionally in the valley with Arizona Opera in Carmen and Tosca, and Arizona Musicfest in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony and the Creation.
Charlie Green She/Her, is so excited to be in her second production with ASU. Most recently, she was seen as an offstage swing in Head Over Heels at ASU. Charlie is a sophomore Musical Theatre Major with a minor in Psychology. She would like to thank her friends, family, and teachers for their endless support. Ericca Rose She/Her, is a senior music theatre major and is minoring in educational studies. She loves the story of Into The Woods. She believes this musical tells relevant and relatable stories important for families and all people to watch. Ericca has both opera and musical theatre experience. Her opera credits include La Bohème, Hansel and Gretel, and Daughter of the Regiment. Professional work has been at Childsplay (Teaching Artist) and Phoenix Theatre (Actress). Some of her favorite roles she has played include (Little Red Riding Hood) Into The Woods, (Mary Lane) Reefer Madness, (Isabel) Pirates of Penzance. After graduation, she will continue on with her education by getting a M.M in music theatre vocal pedagogy in the Chicago area.

Jose Antonio Guevara He/Him is beyond excited to be a part of this production of Into The Woods. He is a junior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Learning and Teaching with an emphasis in trumpet pedagogy. He is the undergraduate co-president of the ASU School of Music, Dance and Theatre IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accountability) student committee, where he works to promote equity and inclusion in the arts by supporting students and artists who come from marginalized groups. Molly Virtue She/Her, is incredibly excited to understudy one of her dream roles! She is a freshman pursuing her Musical Theatre degree. Molly recently made her ASU debut as a swing in Head Over Heels. Throughout high school, Molly enjoyed training with Pittsburgh Musical Theater and performing in their professional productions The Sound of Music and Jesus Christ Superstar. She is also a proud recipient of the 2022 Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actress. In her free time, Molly enjoys improvising comedic opera scenes with her roommates. Isreal Rodriguez, This is Isreal’s first musical production with ASU Music Theatre and Opera! Isreal is currently pursing his bachelors in Music Theatre Performance. His previous roles include Charlie Brown in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown & Roger in GREASE. You can also see Isreal playing the role of Sonny in MCT’S production of In The Heights in May. Justin Carey is thrilled to be part of ASU's Production of, Into the Woods. Justin is a junior pursuing a Bachelors in Music Theater Performance. He is extremely excited to be part of this experience. He was recently seen in the ensemble of ASU's Head Over Heels. He also was in the chorus of Daughter of the Regiment. He has also been seen in ASU’s student lab of Godspell as a Disciple(“Light of the World”) and ASU’s new works of The Valley as Fulur/Gunnar. He has been seen across the valley as Enjolras in Les Miserables, Mal Beinike in The Addams Family, and Giuseppe Zangara in Assassins. Justin would like to thank Kate Leonard for trusting me to be part of this brilliant and fun show.
Heather Landes is director of the Arizona State University School of Music, Dance and Theatre. Having served in leadership roles in the arts for more than three decades, Landes has collaboratively developed key curricular and community initiatives and has wide-ranging experience in academic leadership. Before becoming director, Landes served the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts as associate dean from 2008–2014 and oversaw curriculum development, recruitment and admission, enrollment and retention initiatives, career planning, and managed the Herberger Institute online learning, communications and student success teams. Previous academic leadership appointments include serving as assistant dean and director of student success for the Herberger Institute, assistant dean of enrollment for the Northwestern University School of Music and managing director of the National High School Music Institute. Landes’ research focuses on creativity, entrepreneurship and organizational culture in higher education arts programs. As an advocate for the importance of the arts, she has presented sessions on arts entrepreneurship and curricular reform at the National Association of Schools of Music annual meeting, and Counseling the High School Performing or Visual Artist at the National Association for College Admission Counseling conferences, regional admission counseling meetings, the Interlochen Arts Academy and high schools in the United States and abroad. A former student of Walfrid Kujala and Alexander Murray, Landes holds a bachelor's in flute performance from the University of Illinois and a master's in flute performance from Northwestern University. She earned a doctorate in education from Loyola University Chicago. Her dissertation research involved a comparative study of the student experience at a conservatory of music and a university school of music. In 2022, Landes was elected treasurer of the National Associate for Schools of Music (NASM), the accreditation, national policy and research, and professional development assosciation for collegiate music schools. She served as Region 1 chair from 2021-2022, and vice chair from 2020-2022.
Kate Leonard She/Her, is an intersectionally feminist and anti-racist theatre director and stage manager who leads with joyful collaboration and is driven to tell bizarre, campy, important stories that leave audiences relating and dissecting hours after the show is over. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Kate has been primed for a theatrical life from the start. She received her BA in Theatre from Arizona State University in 2016 and never left! This is her 11th (and final!) season with ASU Music Theatre and Opera, serving as Production Stage Manager and Director for over 50 productions. A million thanks to this out-of-this-world cast, the incredible creative team, the incomparable MTO staff, her mega-supportive friends and family, and YOU for supporting live theatre in Arizona!
Brent C. Mauldin is a New York City based music director and pianist. He holds a BM in Piano Performance from the University of Montevallo (AL) and received his MM in Music Direction for Opera and Musical Theatre from Arizona State in 2016. While at ASU, he music directed Reefer Madness (also directed by Kate Leonard and choreographed by Sara Bruton) and The Drowsy Chaperone which received an AriZoni award for Best Music Direction, and worked on numerous productions around the valley as a music director, pianist, and actor. Other credits include: National Tour: A Charlie Brown Christmas, LIVE. Regional: The Who’s Tommy (Seven Angels Theatre, CT), My Fair Lady (Red Mountain Theatre, AL), Kinky Boots. Brent is extremely humbled and honored to return to ASU and lead this incredibly talented cast and orchestra in one of his all time favorite musicals.
Wesley Bradstreet is just so happy to make theatre with the people he loves. In May, Wesley will graduate from ASU with degrees in Music Theatre Performance and Music Learning and Teaching. Andy Chen He/Him/His, is so privileged to have been part of Into the Woods at ASU with its fantastic cast, crew, and creative team. A music director and pianist from upstate New York, Andy has worked on numerous productions on both coasts, and will complete his MM in Music Direction under Brian DeMaris this spring. Most recently music director for Little Women at ASU, Andy will return to College Light Opera Company this upcoming summer to serve as associate conductor and to music direct Trial by Jury. Sara Bruton is proud to be an alumna of ASU where she obtained her DMA in voice performance and MM in Voice Pedagogy/Performance. Previous choreography credits in the valley include 35mm, Reefer Madness, and Grey Gardens at ASU. Currently, Sara enjoys teaching privately and is an adjunct professor of voice at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. She also enjoys performing in the valley theater community. Favorite roles include Ali in Mamma Mia at The Phoenix Theatre Company, Hattie in Ella Enchanted with Childsplay, Jack’s Mom in Into the Woods with Mesa Encore Theater, and, at ASU, Paulette in Legally Blonde, Trix in The Drowsy Chaperone, Sally in Reefer Madness, and Gino in A Day in Hollywood/A Night in Ukraine. Max Plata He/Him, is a playwright, dramaturg, and stage manager based in Phoenix, Arizona. Max graduated in 2022 with a Bachelors of Art in Theatre from Arizona State University, where he worked for three years as a stage manager for Music Theatre and Opera. He currently works as the Manager of The Rose Theatre and Resident Director of Phoenix's iteration of the off-Broadway comedy Drunk Shakespeare. Max would like to thank the staff and faculty at MTO for inviting him back to work with his favorite people on one of his favorite shows!
Jess Overtoom They/She - This is Jess' first show working with ASU Music Theatre and Opera! Previous shows they have worked on include Luchadora!, Healing Wars, and The Wolves with ASU Theatre. They are graduating this semester and are thrilled that this was their last collegiate performance!
Justin Maroney (Designer/ Fabricator) is a member of the Oakhaus team who brought Milky White to life. A lifelong artist and craftsperson, he currently works full time as a mechanical design engineer. As an alumnus of the ASU Digital Culture program, he is thrilled to contribute to this Herberger MTO production.
Mario Yniguez is finishing his Master's in Musical Theatre Direction at ASU MTO, a vocal instructor at the Popular Music Program, and also carpenter/small business owner. He is largely a vocalist, instrumentalist, and composer but has had the privilege of music directing a number of shows at ASU (Godspell, Bright Star, Songs From Liquid Days, Healing Wars) in his two years here. He is grateful to get to be a part of this last show at ASU!
OAKHAUS (creators of Milky White) is a local carpentry and fabrication company based in Chandler and owned by Mario Yniguez. His grandfather, Bill Carter, was a prolific carpenter who started him on the path at a young age. Through the pandemic, Mario and a group of close friends, including Justin Maroney, turned to carpentry when performing music became impossible. The company has continued since making household items and taking commissions for things like furniture and even cows for theater productions. The Music Theatre and Opera program in the School of Music at Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts is committed to preparing outstanding music theatre and opera artists for professional careers in the 21st century. Through expert individual and classroom instruction, the production of operas and musicals, student-led workshops, new work development, research opportunities, dynamic community engagement and multiple professional collaborations, we foster a creative, student-centered environment that enables students to discover who they are as individuals and artists, at their own pace, in their own unique way, at the highest level.
