1. Purpose
Notifire is an independent Chrome extension that helps supervisors monitor an open 8x8 Supervisor Workspace dashboard. It displays alerts for configured agent-status durations, queue waiting times and missed-call counts. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by 8x8.
2. Information processed
On the supervisor dashboard, Notifire reads displayed agent names, current statuses, status/reason codes, time on status, starred-agent indicators, relevant average durations, Rejected timeout counts, queue names, waiting counts and queue wait metrics. It processes these readings to evaluate alert rules and show notifications.
Notifire also stores preferences supplied by the user: thresholds, exclusions, sound choices, uploaded audio clips, volume, and pause/mute settings. It keeps discovered agent names so users can select exclusions.
Notifire identifies the dashboard by its URL and uses tab identifiers to deliver alerts. It does not build or save a browsing-history list, monitor keystrokes, or scrape the content of unrelated webpages. Other webpages receive only the notification overlay.
3. Local processing and storage
Dashboard processing occurs in the user's Chrome extension on their device. Persistent preferences, discovered agent names and custom audio are kept in Chrome local extension storage. Current readings, pending missed-call counts and alerts are kept in temporary extension session storage. These records are not sent to a developer-operated server. Notifire does not use Chrome storage sync to share settings across accounts or computers.
4. Clipboard and sharing
When the user clicks a notification's copy-image button, Notifire creates a PNG containing that notification's name, activity, duration or count, relevant average or total, and capture time, and writes it to the clipboard. It does not read existing clipboard contents or automatically send messages to Google Chat or any other service. If the user pastes an image into another application, that sharing is controlled by the user and the destination application's policies. Notification images can contain employee information; users should share them only with appropriate recipients.
5. Data use and disclosure
Data is used only to provide the extension's monitoring, configuration, audio and notification features. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, use it to determine creditworthiness, or use it for unrelated purposes. The developer does not receive the dashboard readings or locally stored preferences through the extension.
Notifire's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Information not accessed
Notifire does not access 8x8 passwords, authentication cookies or API tokens, call recordings, microphone audio, Google Chat messages, financial or health information, or device location. User-uploaded notification sounds are alarm media, not captured calls or microphone recordings.
7. Retention and control
Users can change rules, mute or pause alerts, acknowledge notifications, remove agent exclusions, and replace or reset custom sounds in the extension. Pausing notifications does not stop dashboard reading. Temporary session records are cleared when Chrome's extension session storage is cleared, including on browser restart, extension reload, disablement or update. Persistent preferences and discovered names remain until removed through extension storage controls or the extension is uninstalled. Uninstalling Notifire removes its Chrome extension storage; copied images already pasted elsewhere are not deleted by uninstalling.
8. Security and permissions
Chrome's extension permission and storage mechanisms control access. Notifire requests webpage access to read the supervisor dashboard and display alert cards across tabs; scripting to restore overlays; storage for local settings and readings; alarms for background checks; offscreen for audio playback; and clipboard write for user-requested image copies. It does not request permission to read the clipboard. Local extension storage should not be treated as a secure vault; access to the user's computer and Chrome profile should be protected by the user or their organization.
9. Privacy-policy website
This policy is hosted using Google Sites. Google may process website access information under its privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Visiting this page does not connect to your Notifire dashboard data.
10. Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the extension's functionality or data handling changes. The effective date will be updated on this page. For questions or requests relating to Notifire's data handling, contact fayyazn14@gmail.com. Do not send passwords, API keys or confidential dashboard data in a support request.
