Notes: Notepad & Tasks
Last Updated: November 28, 2025
Welcome to Notes: Notepad & Tasks ("App"), developed by DRHGLOW ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). Our aim is to be fully transparent about our data practices while ensuring your privacy is respected and protected in line with applicable laws.
This Privacy Policy aligns with key data protection regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. It forms an essential part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any terms capitalized here but not defined carry the meanings from the EULA.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We collect limited information to make the App work smoothly and improve your experience. Here's what we gather and why:
Device Information
We collect basic details about your device, such as the hardware model, operating system version, and system settings. This helps us ensure the App runs well on your device and troubleshoot any issues.
Network and Internet Access
The App needs internet access for features like cloud synchronization, analytics, and showing ads. We may collect data related to your network connection to support these functions, but we do not track your browsing history or personal online activities.
Notification Access
We may send notifications to your device for reminders, alarms, or updates. This requires access to your device's notification system, but we only use it for App-related alerts you can control in your settings.
We do not collect sensitive personal information like your name, email, or location unless you provide it voluntarily (e.g., for support queries). All data collection is minimal and focused on functionality.
Local Storage
All your notes, tasks, and related data (including any contacts you add) are stored directly on your device. We do not upload or store this information on our servers or any external cloud unless you choose to enable optional sync features.
Anonymized Analytics
If we use third-party services like Firebase for analytics, the data is anonymized—meaning it cannot be traced back to you personally. This helps us understand App usage patterns without invading your privacy.
Security Measures
We prioritize your data's safety by using encryption for any transmitted data and conducting regular security audits. While we strive for the highest standards, remember that no online transmission or storage is completely risk-free. In case of a data breach, we will notify affected users as required by law.
The App requests specific permissions to function properly. We only ask for what's necessary, and you can manage these in your device settings. Here's a clear breakdown:
Post Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
This is required on Android 13 and above to show alarm alerts, reminders, and scheduled notifications. Without it, you won't receive timely updates from the App.
Internet (android.permission.INTERNET)
Essential for online features like fetching backup files, syncing scheduled alarms, or downloading alarm tones. We use this sparingly to keep the App efficient.
These permissions comply with Google Play's requirements for transparent and justified access. For more on Android permissions, visit Google's official guide: Android Permissions Overview.
To build a reliable and feature-rich App, we integrate trusted third-party libraries and SDKs. Each one is chosen for its functionality and privacy standards. Here's a detailed list:
AndroidX Core Libraries (androidx.core:core-ktx)
Provides Kotlin extensions for Android APIs, making code cleaner and more efficient, like easier handling of preferences and bundles.
AppCompat (androidx.appcompat:appcompat)
Ensures the App works seamlessly on older Android versions by supporting modern features, themes, and UI elements like the ActionBar.
Material Design (com.google.android.material:material)
Delivers stylish UI components, such as buttons and navigation views, following Google's Material Design guidelines for a consistent look.
Activity (androidx.activity:activity)
Handles lifecycle-aware activities, permission requests, and result handling with Kotlin support for smoother App behavior.
ConstraintLayout (androidx.constraintlayout:constraintlayout)
Allows building flexible, responsive layouts without nested views, improving performance on various screen sizes.
Core Animation (androidx.core:core-animation)
Supports animations on devices running API 14 and higher, enhancing user interactions like transitions.
Firebase Services (Analytics, Crashlytics, Messaging & Remote Config)
Analytics: Gathers anonymized usage stats to refine the App's features.
Crashlytics: Tracks crashes for quick fixes and better stability.
Messaging: Powers push notifications for real-time alerts.
Remote Config: Lets us update App settings remotely without needing updates from you. All Firebase data is handled per Google's privacy policies: Firebase Privacy.
Lifecycle Components (androidx.lifecycle:lifecycle-viewmodel-ktx)
Manages data tied to the App's lifecycle, ensuring information persists during rotations or other changes.
Hilt (com.google.dagger:hilt-android)
A dependency injection tool that simplifies code structure, making the App easier to maintain and test.
Room (androidx.room:room)
Our local database for storing notes and tasks securely on your device, including a recycle bin for deleted items.
Activity KTX (androidx.activity:activity:1.10.1)
Kotlin extensions for activities, enabling easy ViewModel scoping.
These integrations follow Google Play's guidelines for third-party usage, ensuring no unnecessary data collection.
Local Data
Since data is stored on your device, it stays there until you delete it or uninstall the App, which removes all local files.
Third-Party Data
Anonymized data sent to services like Firebase follows their retention policies, which we do not control. We ensure shared data is minimal and anonymized. For details, refer to their policies (e.g., Google Privacy Policy).
You can request deletion of any data we hold by contacting us.
Current Status
As of now, the App does not include in-app purchases or subscriptions. However, we may introduce them in the future to offer premium features like ad removal or advanced tools.
Future Subscriptions
If added, plans (e.g., monthly or yearly) will be priced based on your region and shown in the App or Google Play Store. Payments go through your Google Pay account, with auto-renewal unless canceled 24 hours before the end.
Future In-App Purchases
One-time options, like "Premium Lifetime," would unlock features permanently.
Payment Security
All transactions would use secure providers like Google Pay, compliant with PCI-DSS standards. We never store your card details. See Google's Privacy Policy for more.
The App does not use cookies directly. Third-party services (e.g., Firebase or AdMob) might use similar technologies like device identifiers for anonymized analytics or ads. Manage these via your device settings—disabling may limit personalized features.
We rely on third parties for specific tasks, always with privacy in mind:
Analytics (Firebase Analytics): Anonymized insights into App usage to enhance features.
Advertising (Google AdMob): Displays ads, possibly personalized via anonymized data. Opt out in your Google settings.
Behavioral Remarketing (e.g., Google Ads): Shows relevant ads elsewhere based on anonymized interactions.
Payment Processing (Google Play Services): Handles secure transactions if added.
All processing complies with GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, and Google Play rules, using anonymization where possible.
If you're in the European Economic Area (EEA), GDPR grants you these rights:

We respect "Do Not Track" signals, avoiding tracking for ads if enabled. Third parties like AdMob have their own policies—check them directly. For CalOPPA info: CalOPPA Overview.
We scan the App regularly for malware and ban harmful uses like phishing. This keeps everyone safe and complies with Google Play's security standards.
Ads or features may link to external sites. We're not responsible for their privacy—review their policies before engaging.
The App is for users 13+ (16+ in EEA). We don't collect kids' data knowingly and delete it if discovered. Parents, contact us if concerned. This follows COPPA and GDPR rules: COPPA Info.
We may share data if legally required, like for court orders, always following laws like GDPR and CCPA.
We'll update this policy as needed, posting changes here with a new "Last Updated" date. Check back often—continued use means acceptance.
