XML Tools is a plugin that offers a range of features for working with XML files. It includes syntax highlighting, validation, and formatting tools, as well as XPath expressions for querying and transforming XML data.

To create, modify, debug AND validate XidML files, you might use the free editor Notepad++ with the XML tools Plugin. The following steps should give a short introduction of using Notepad++, XML tools plugin and the XidML schema to validate XidML files. For the screenshots, Notepad++ v8.1.9.2 and XidML 3.0.0 was used. As the title implies, this procedure can be applied to any XML file, for which there's a schema available.

Notepad++ in combination with the XML Tools Plugin and the XidML schema is a smart way to validate XidML files (basically any XML file where you have a schema). As it comes with no cost, you might accept for example the drawback that the in the error messages, you'll have no information in which line of the file the validation error was detected or located. If you need to dig deeper in this domain you might consider commercial tools which provides additional useful features. As some of them might not be free, you need to weigh up the pros and cons.

For me, Notepad++ is one of my core tools to use in daily work. It has a powerful compare function, it provides a very good search/replace/counting interface and one of my favorite is the block selection mode (using Alt-Key while selecting).

You'll find the links in the comments. Let me know, if you have other ways to validate XML based files. What are your experiences with such tools? What other formats do you have mind to describe a FTI configuration? Any comments or complementary feedback/correction is highly appreciated!

Francis Edwards, Integration Analyst at Saint-Gobain and MuleSoft Ambassador, is an experienced MuleSoft developer. He spoke at MuleSoft CONNECT:Now EMEA sharing useful integration tools to help developers get the most out of Anypoint Studio. Below, he provides insight into each tool he recommends as well as demonstrates how he created a Mule app.

Most importantly, these tools compliment Anypoint Studio, allowing quicker Mule app development. My advice is to know all the tools you can use to test and clean data, spotting likely errors to be handled, as this is the foundation that mature Mule apps are built upon.

Ive tried using 'FunctionList.dll - List of functions' version 2.1 against notepad++ v6.6.9, but when I load an autoit .au3 file into notepad++ the function list box says 'No Rule Define', I have put the 'FunctionListRules.xml' into 'C:Usersusername'AppDataRoamingNotepad++', also tried putting it in 'C:Program Files (x86)Notepad++pluginsconfig'

I know that topic has been inactive for a while, nevertheless I have been searching for a processing syntax highlihghter to get processing code highlighted (in the end) to some ms word / open office / google docs / or similar program. Does anyone have an idea how to achieve that easily? I thought about a workaround using notepad++ but unfortunately the link above (post by cameyo) does not work anymore.

I createad a script that first installs notepad++ with its installer and after installation has been done my script copies config.model.xml to C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++. Config.model.xml is configured with line below which correctly disables "Enable Notepad++ auto-updater"

Notepad++ is a good text editor within our reach. With the addition of Best plugins, it makes it fun to code in. Convenience, swiftness, robustness, and long-time presence in the coding world are an experience to live with. I recommend notepad++ to anyone starting to code and even the seasoned.

No matter what IDE or other tools you use you still need a great text editor from time to time. The Windows default of Notepad is very basic to say the least. Enter Notepad++, a free and open source Notepad on steroids.

Mind Mapping tools are essential nowadays, and many testers use mind mapping regularly to make plans for their testing and data visualization. XMind is a great mind mapping platform that helps to convert ideas into maps with flow charts and graphs.

Well up until now I was using Poseidon tools as my sqf editor. But I think I'll go back to Notepad++ bc Poseidon has this "Buy license" dialog that pops up after saving a certain amount of times. Otherwise it's working fine for me. From where did you download the highlighter?

I tend to edit from within SWIPL shell. You can use edit(predicate). to open the location of the chosen predicate within your editor. It looks like notepad++ allows you to specify the linenumber to begin at by passing the -n flag to the editor. So you could add a line to your .swiplrc similar to the untested:

Several text editors support CTAGS, which provides a limited support for code navigation. But this is a bit of a last resort solution. SWI-Prolog bundled editor is much better at code navigation. Third-party tools such as PDT also provide good code navigation.

here is a plugin that i am using for as language in notepad++.

You have to copy the xml file into the Notepad++\plugins\APIs folder and Import the plugin from Language --> Define Language.

After importing, select AS Language from User language. Close the notepad++ and select AS Language from Language menu.

Yes, KIDE is totally free and I'm using it for about 4+ years and it's really a brand new experience after the Notepad++ and other tools. I know, that K-ROSET has it's own AS editor, but it it doesn't have the features I use in the KIDE. e24fc04721
