Welcome to the Notes: Notepad & To-Do Lists ("App"), developed by Antheia Tools ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). It also outlines your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. Our goal is to be transparent about our data practices and ensure your privacy is protected.
This Privacy Policy is an integral part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the EULA.
The App allows you to create and manage notes, which may include text, images, and file attachments. All note-related data, including titles, content, and attachments, is stored locally on your device. This data is not shared with third parties unless you explicitly enable the Google Drive backup feature. By default, Google Drive backup is disabled, and you must opt in to activate it. If enabled, only your note-related data will be uploaded to your Google Drive account, and this data does not include personal information that identifies you.
We may collect anonymized usage data to understand how users interact with the App and to improve its functionality. This includes information like which features are used and how often. We use third-party services, such as Firebase Analytics, to collect this data. This data is anonymized and does not personally identify you.
To ensure the App performs well and is compatible with your device, we may collect information such as the hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers. This data is used solely to optimize the App’s performance and compatibility.
All App-related data, such as notes and attachments, is stored locally on your device. If you choose to enable the Google Drive backup feature, your note-related data (titles, content, and attachments) will be uploaded to your Google Drive account. This feature is disabled by default and requires your explicit consent to activate. We do not upload or store your data on any external servers other than Google Drive (if enabled). Any analytics data collected via third-party services, such as Firebase, is anonymized and does not include personal information.
We implement robust security measures to protect your data, including encryption for data stored locally and during transmission to Google Drive (if enabled). We also conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. However, no method of data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The App requires certain permissions to function effectively. Below are the permissions we use and their purposes:
Network Access (android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): These permissions are necessary for Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Messaging to collect anonymized usage data, report crashes, and send notifications about new features or updates.
Notification Permission (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): This permission allows the App to send real-time notifications to keep you informed about new features, version updates, or other relevant information.
We request only the permissions necessary for the App’s functionality and adhere to Google Play’s policies on permission usage.
We use the following third-party libraries and SDKs to enhance the App’s functionality. Each is carefully selected to comply with data protection regulations:
Firebase Analytics (com.google.firebase:firebase-analytics): Collects anonymized usage data, such as feature engagement and crash reports, to help us improve the App’s performance and user experience. This data does not personally identify you.
Firebase Crashlytics (com.google.firebase:firebase-crashlytics): Tracks and reports app crashes to help us identify and fix issues, improving the App’s stability and performance.
Firebase Messaging (com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging): Enables real-time push notifications to inform you about new features, version updates, or other relevant information.
Room Database (androidx.room:room): Manages local storage of notes, checklists, and related features like pinning, unpinning, or deleting notes (temporarily or permanently).
Sdp & Ssp (com.intuit.sdp:sdp-android, com.intuit.ssp:ssp-android): Ensures responsive UI design by scaling dimensions and text sizes based on your device’s screen size, providing a consistent experience across different devices.
Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson): Simplifies data handling by converting objects to JSON strings for passing between activities, supporting complex data structures while remaining readable for debugging.
Dagger Hilt (com.google.dagger:hilt): Supports clean architecture through annotations like @HiltAndroidApp, @HiltViewModel, and @AndroidEntryPoint, improving the App’s maintainability and scalability.
All App data, including notes and attachments, is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data will be deleted from your device. If you use the Google Drive backup feature, your note-related data will remain in your Google Drive account until you manually delete it.
Data collected by third-party services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics) is subject to their respective retention policies. We ensure that any data shared with these services is anonymized and complies with applicable data protection laws. We do not control the retention periods of third-party services but encourage you to review their privacy policies for more details.
The App offers subscription-based plans and in-app purchases to unlock premium features, such as advanced note organization or ad-free experiences.
We offer multiple subscription plans (e.g., weekly, monthly, yearly), with prices varying by country and displayed in the App or Google Play Store.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions via the App’s Account Settings or the Google Play Store.
If a free trial is offered and you subscribe before it ends, the unused trial period will be forfeited.
Options like “Remove Ads” or “Premium Lifetime” are available as one-time purchases to unlock specific features permanently.
Prices vary by country and are displayed in the App or Google Play Store.
All payments are processed securely by trusted third-party providers, such as Google Pay, in compliance with PCI-DSS standards. We do not store or process your payment card details. For more information, please review Google’s Privacy Policy.
The App itself does not use cookies. However, third-party services like Firebase Analytics or Google AdMob may use cookies or similar technologies (e.g., device identifiers) to collect anonymized data for analytics or advertising purposes. You can manage cookie settings through your device or browser settings. Disabling cookies may impact certain features, such as personalized ads.
We use third-party services for the following purposes, ensuring compliance with data protection laws:
Analytics: Firebase Analytics collects anonymized data to help us understand user interactions with the App, enabling us to enhance its performance and features.
Advertising: Google AdMob serves ads within the App, which may be personalized based on anonymized data.
Behavioral Remarketing: Services like Google Ads may use anonymized data to display relevant ads on other platforms.
Payment Processing: Google Play Services securely handles all in-app purchases and subscriptions.
Any data shared with third parties is anonymized to protect your privacy and complies with applicable regulations.
