What NoteIt does

NoteIt is a note and reminder app. You write text, optionally use voice input, send notes to the notification shade, and schedule reminders. Premium features include voice dictation and are sold through Google Play.

Permissions and what they are for

RECORD_AUDIO

Used only when you use the microphone (premium) to dictate into your note. The app uses Android’s speech-to-text (SpeechRecognizer). The recognized text is inserted into the note field. The app does not save voice recordings as audio files. Depending on your device and Android’s speech services, audio may be processed by Google’s speech recognition (or another provider configured on the device). That processing is governed by Google’s (or the provider’s) terms and policies, not by a separate server run by this app.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Used to show your notes and reminders as notifications on the device (content you create in the app).

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM

Used so scheduled reminders can fire at the times you choose, not only approximate times.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Used so after the device restarts, the app can restore pending schedules and active note notifications from data already saved on the device.

Google Play Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING)

Used for in-app purchases (e.g. premium). Google Play handles payment processing. The app stores whether you have premium locally on the device (for example in app preferences). The developer does not receive your full card details from the app.

Data stored on your device

Note text, schedule information (times, repeat rules, labels), UI choices (template, accent color), custom schedule presets, a short history of completed notes, onboarding state, and premium status are kept in app storage (e.g. SharedPreferences), on your device. The app is not built to upload that content to servers operated by the developer for normal use.

Network

The app does not declare a general internet permission in its manifest. Google Play Billing and, when you use dictation, system speech services may still use the network through Google Play and Android/Google speech components, under Google’s policies.

Backup

Android backup may copy some app data according to your device and Google account backup settings. See Google’s documentation on Android backup.

Children

The app is not directed at young children. If you have concerns, contact the email above.

Your choices

You can deny or revoke the microphone permission in system settings; voice dictation will not work without it. You can turn off notifications or uninstall the app.

Changes

This policy may be updated; the date at the top will change when it is.
