I have a 16 GB SD card and I installed MK11 on my switch, I have 30.3 MB left on my switch but 8.2 GB left on the SD card. It tells me save data can't be created because there isn't enough free space, and that I need 161.5 MB on the console's system memory. I wiped my switch clean to be able to install it, so I can't delete/archive anything. I can't transfer things from my memory to the SD card either.

Have you contacted the company you bought it from? Does it have a warranty? Your C drive shouldn't be filled up with extra programs. This is a portable pc of limited memory so you will run out of space fairly quickly. Isn't there a list of tricks to store stuff on an SD drive instead of the C (systemj drive? I should write one!
If you have only 32gb for the C: drive, you have a problem. You must free up 15GB on C: to run the Anniversary upgrade online. If not you need to download the update to a flash or SD card and run it externally.
I have found an SD card, didn't know there was a port for an SD card. I only need to make space for 8 KG to do the upgrade, but can't find a way to upload onto the SD card. I will try again another time.
Push the card carefully into the slot (tablet can be on) with printed side up and the tiny triangle on the card pointing toward the slot. Windows File Explorer should detect it as drive tag_hash_108. At this point you may want to right-click on the new drive and format it to NFTS (same as C drive). A combination of moving stuff to the SD card, deleting things I don't need (Candy Crush) and clearing temporary files etc. I was amazed to find one day there was enough memory to run the anniversary update and all is now up to date. It too a few days to do it but now it is done.
I am trying to back my phone up to my laptop using the smart switch app on my laptop. I plug my phone into my computer and select backup but I get an error saying that I need to clear space on my device. I assume that is referring to my laptop but that doesn't make any sense. I have 117gb of data on my phone and each drive of my computer has over 300gb left. I have tried changing the backup location to each of my drives with no luck. It says that I need to clear 11gb of storage so I deselected my photos and videos which account for more than 50gb of my phone storage and it changes to saying that I now need to delete 25gb of data from my device. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I don't have an external drive big enough to back up my data which is why I am using my laptop instead of a flashdrive.

I'm not using cloud storage for anything and I guess I don't see anything in smart switch that talks about cloud storage.
