Linda Venenciano equips educators with the tools and confidence to nurture mathematical thinking in young learners. As a professor at Pacific University's School of Learning and Teaching, she's curious about how kids learn to think mathematically and stick with challenging problems.
Starting as a middle school teacher, Linda has taught students from first grade through college. Before joining Pacific in 2022, she was an associate professor at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa's Curriculum Research & Development Group.
She's created practical resources for teachers, including a book of rich algebra tasks, curriculum for struggling students, and a children's storybook celebrating the joy of mathematical discovery. Linda recently completed a professional development project on K-2 big ideas and currently researches how elementary teachers find their place in math education.
