Far North Year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament 2021

There were 24 teams entered into this event which was held at the Kaitaia Rugby Club, it was an awesome day and was great to have the Rugby Academy Students from Kaitaia Abundant Life School who came along a refereed for the day!

Bay of Islands Year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament 2021

This event was held at Kerikeri Rugby Club and with 33 teams entered into this event which was awesome to see! The students from Kerikeri Primary School offered to help Referee throughout the day which was an awesome help.

Whangarei Year 5/6 Rippa Rugby Tournament 2021

The Whangarei Tournament was held at the Kamo Rugby Club with 44 teams entered from the Whangarei area. Thanks to the awesome students from Kamo Intermediate School who did a great job out on the field refereeing.

FMG Engagement Days 2021

The FMG Community Engagement Days took place this week in Mangakahia, Dargaville, and Okaihau. Thanks to everyone who came along and got involved. The kids even had an opportunity to get their photo taken with the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman Trophy. A massive thank you to Farmlands and FMG for the sausage sizzle and amazing giveaways and making these days happen.

Whangarei Intermediate In School Tournament

Inter-School Rip Rugby Tournament at Whangārei Intermediate School in the Northland Sunshine today! Shout out to teachers who got out on the field and played with the students to give them some motivation throughout the day and to the students in the 6 classes who were involved that showed great skill set out on the field!

2020 Northland Rugby Community Events

It was a challenging year with events which meant a lot of date changes, reduced numbers in tournaments and restrictions in place. Thankyou to all the volunteers and schools who put in the effort to come along to the events and tournaments that were held. We look forward to what next year has in stall!

Year 5/6 Rippa Tournament Kaikohe 2020

This was the first Year 5/6 Tournament of 2020 which was held under Level 2 restriction's meaning teams were limited to keep under the 100 person bubble. The tournament was still successful with the students having a lot of fun and showing awesome talent on the field.

Level 2 restrictions were still in place so the tournament was limited to 8 teams, it was held at Eastern Rugby Club and it was awesome for the tournament to still go ahead during such uncertain times. The rain set in which cut the tournament short, however the chant off inside keep the students spirts up!

Suzana from Auckland Rugby brought up the Rugby World Cup for the kids playing at Mangakahia Rugby Club the opportunity to learn some history about the World Cup and a photo opportunity. It is great to see so much excitement for the World Cup in Whangarei next year.

Whangaroa Whanau Day

Rugby for Life was a major part of this event, it was a community event to promote that message that Family Violence is Not Ok and providing the Kaeo community the opportunity to come together and play sports after the Covid 19 effects.

Champions of Champions Day

St Joseph's School in Dargaville was lucky to be apart of Champions of Champions Day which was about everyone feeling like a Champion. It was a collaboration between different codes in Northland including Golf, Cricket, Touch, Parafed and Sport Northland who organized the event.

North Zone Year 7/8 Rip Rugby Tournament

The North Zone Rip Rugby Tournament was held at the Kerikeri Sports Complex this year with a great turn out from all around the North Zone. Thanks to the volunteers on the day and the positive attitudes from both the students and staff present on the day.
