GUERRERO, ARNEL R.

Field Study Subject Biography

Hi! I'm Arnel R Guerrero. 21 years old, a 4th year student taking up Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED-ICT), major in Information and Communication Technology at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

During my Field Study 1 and 2 at North Fairview High School, I was assigned to observe the class of Maam. June S. Rabi, a Master teacher of TLE-ICT. and an expert in Java Programming and other computer subjects. As I observed her, I realized that teaching needs to be systematic and pragmatic, in order to get your students’ attention into the subject that you are teaching, As a future teacher, I am inspired to be a great educator too.

Beliefs on Teaching and Learning (Pre and Post FS)

Before, I believed that the teacher's main job was to just creating lesson plans and just observing around the classroom all day, but after conducting the field studies, I realized that their main job was guide the students for their desired path and teach them knowledge and skills that they can have for their future careers

Also, back then, I believed that students' dedication, and hard work made them good at learning, but after conducting my field study, I realized that the teachers indeed, played a huge part in making students good at learning. thus, educators can think of new styles and strategies that can make the student good at acquiring new knowledge.

Retrospection

Remembering my days and experiences during my field study, I can say that I fully enjoy it. aside from learning things in the field from full time teachers, I also had the opportunity to experience teaching and interact with various students, I can say that the teaching profession was indeed difficult, but it will be worth it, after seeing how you help students acquire new skills and that you can help them build their future for the better
