Field Study Subject Biography 

Hello! I'm John Michael Delfin, a 26-years-old and was born in the province of Lanao del Norte but now I'm currently living in Freedom Park 6, Batasan Hills, Quezon City. I'm currently enrolled in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Quezon City branch and with a course of Bachelor of Business Technology and Livelihood Education, major in Information Communication Technology. 

My hobby is playing online games because it's fun to play with my friends and I always interact with them. Information Technology is my preferred course but since I'm late for the requirements, I couldn't make it for the IT because its full on slot. Later, some teacher suggested me to pick BBTE because it has ICT major so I go for it and claim the slot. Later on I realized it was an Education course, so I just accept it and continue to pursue teaching because there's still my specialty, which is the ICT that I learned from my senior high school.

Beliefs on Teaching and Learning (Pre and Post FS)

Based on my research about pursuing a teacher is that I believe that traditional teacher-centered instruction is the most effective way to teach students. Student-centered is also good but when its come to teaching, teacher-centered is still the most effective way in delivering information to a large group of students. I also hold certain beliefs about student behavior and achievement, such as assuming that they have a low-performing students which is lack of motivation or that of high-performing students which are naturally talented in their area. After on-the-job training, 

My beliefs was shift based on the experiences that I have and exposure to new ideas and practices. And I come to understand that the importance of student-centered instruction is still effective and we also meet the needs of all learners. And I also believe that teaching is fun especially when I have the knowledge of my previous learning and gave it to the student because they needed it.

Retrospection

After completing the on-the-job training, I've learned many things from my critique teacher which I haven't learned before. I thank critique teacher for nuance knowledge and for the method and technique that he used inside the classroom. I was a student who don't have a clear pathway to education but thanks to our critique teachers, co-intern and other faculty, I've seen my desired way.
