PTA Council & Unit

Meetings & Events

PTA membership and dues support your child by funding essential educational and curriculum needs; advocating on behalf of children and educators at the local, state and national levels; and building an exclusive school community for all families.

I invite you to join the PTA for your child because increasing our membership, by even one, makes it possible to provide important educational resources, speak up on important issues and create a stronger school community. There is no right or wrong way to be involved - anything you can give, whether it is time or money, will support your child's potential.

What is the PTA?

The PTA is a collaboration between parents, teachers, staff and community members who work together to provide excellence in education and promote the welfare of all our children. This organization provides services that enhance your child’s education and gives you a more direct voice in what happens at the school. The PTA accomplishes things that truly make a difference!

Why is the PTA important?

Your involvement helps your child to succeed. Schools with strong parent involvement produce students who perform better than otherwise identical schools. Children, whose parents stay in touch with the school, score higher than children of similar aptitude and family background whose parents are not involved. On average, children with involved parents outperform other children.

What does the PTA do for our parents?

The PTA serves as an information link between parents and the school through monthly meetings and newsletters. The PTA provides a forum for parents to interact with each other to share ideas and information.

What is the best way to get involved?

Everyone can be involved! PTA realizes that everyone has many different demands on their time. You can donate money or volunteer your time. There are many committees whose work can be done at flexible times or completely at home. Attending meetings is a great way to learn of all the opportunities that exist. Participating as a volunteer-at-large gives you the flexibility of not committing to a specific activity, but being available to help when it is convenient for you. Certain committees appeal to different people, choose one that interests you!
