The NorCal Tigers fell to the Phillies, 20-2, on Sunday at Livermore High School despite battling through every inning against a powerful offensive performance.

The Phillies wasted no time taking control of the game, scoring five runs in the opening inning behind a series of timely hits to jump out to an early lead. They continued to build momentum in the third, plating five more runs by capitalizing on timely hitting, a fielder's choice, and a defensive miscue to extend their advantage.

The visitors added another five-run inning in the sixth, stringing together several RBI hits and a sacrifice fly to put the game out of reach. They capped off the afternoon in the seventh with a two-run home run, finishing with an explosive 21-hit performance.

Keito Frank got the start on the mound for the Tigers, working two innings while striking out two batters. Although NorCal faced constant pressure from the Phillies' lineup, the pitching staff continued to compete against an offense that found success throughout the game.

Despite the final score, the Tigers continued to battle at the plate. Jack Fields led the offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance from the leadoff spot, consistently putting pressure on the defense. Joe Correa also turned in a strong day, collecting two hits in three at-bats as NorCal finished with eight hits as a team.

The Phillies received contributions from throughout their lineup, with multiple players recording multi-hit games and driving in key runs. Their offense combined for 21 hits, showed patience by drawing eight walks, and remained aggressive on the basepaths with five stolen bases. Defensively, they played a clean game without committing an error.

Although the result did not go NorCal's way, the Tigers continued to compete until the final out and found bright spots offensively with quality performances from the top of the lineup. They will look to regroup and bounce back next Sunday when they travel to face the Tigers.
