The issue was within Spotify itself. I had autoplay suggestions turned off for my phone but also had to turn it off on other devices. So when Spotify played the required song it didn't play suggested afterwards. I have outlined the steps below.

Glad I could help! Haha - I haven't tested if it works without making the seperate playlist and instead just playing an individual song - but I found that creating a playlist labelled specifically helps the recognition and stops playing other playlists that are similar!

"Stop!" is a song by English singer-songwriter Sam Brown from her debut studio album of the same name (1988). It was released in May 1988 by A&M, and written by Brown, Gregg Sutton and Bruce Brody. "Stop!" reached number 52 on the UK Singles Chart when it was first released. Following its re-release in 1989, the song peaked at number four, becoming Brown's highest-charting single, and spending 12 weeks on the chart. Additionally, "Stop!" topped the charts in Belgium, Iceland, the Netherlands and Norway, while reaching the top five in Australia, Austria, Finland, France, Ireland and Switzerland. The song was featured in the soundtrack to the 1992 film Bitter Moon.

English singer Jamelia covered "Stop!" after the makers of the 2004 film Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason approached her to record it to illustrate an integral part of the film. Jamelia instantly accepted the offer and explained how much she was a fan of the character and of the first film.[41] The exclamation mark at the end of the title was dropped for the Jamelia release.

"Stop" was released as a double A-side with the song "DJ" on 1 November 2004. The single peaked at number nine on the UK Singles Chart and became Jamelia's fourth consecutive top-10 entry, spending 12 weeks on the chart. It also became her fourth consecutive top-40 single in Australia, peaking at number 37.

The formats of "DJ" and "Stop" received a staggered release. On 1 November 2004, the two-track CD one was released along with the "DJ" CD release. Due to time constraints, the "Stop" music video (directed by Alex Hemming) could not be added in time to make the 1 November release date and so the CD two was released a week later on 8 November 2004. This was also the first DVD single release from Jamelia. The single release also contained a cover of Wham!'s "Last Christmas".

The title is pretty self explanatory, you can't stop songs from coming up in daily mixes. While I do understand that there is a "hide this song" feature on mobile to prevent a particular song coming up, it still does come up in the playlist (and sometimes still plays??) and if you use another device with the same account, say your PC, it will still show up and (because the PC app is so neglected and NEVER receives any updates) there's absolutely no ability to remove that song.

My suggestion, as many many others have suggested on this community section, is, when you select "hide this song" perhaps that means it does exactly that. Doesn't come up in the playlist anymore. It's wasted space to keep it there when you could put in another song that IS actually good. Not to mention adding the feature to PC at all is a solution too. I have seen your moderators & community people suggest to not see that artist, this is NOT a help, as my issue (and many others) lies with one song only. The rest of the artists music is good.

Hey @ArmourDyldo,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We get that you're unsatisfied with the way your personalized playlists get curated and that you keep seeing a title that you dislike. To be able to teach the app to improve the personalization of the playlists made for you, please read on how on our support page here. Also, keep in mind that if you've followed the particular artists (so you did not use the "Don't play this" option), the algorithm might still suggest and play that tune for you, based on its popularity. It's also good to know that changes in your musical preferences might become notable within one to three weeks of time.

Hope this helps clarify things. Don't hesitate to give us a shout if there's anything else we can help with.

Sadly, as Spotify moderators have said, just deal with it as they don't care and aren't interested in fixingit or making it better. The whole application on mobile and PC is missing so many features, or it has features that don't work it's appalling. Take "import music" for example, "feature" is there on mobile, straight up doesn't work. It's a HUGE work around to get it to kind of work on PC and even then, it hardly works on other devices once added in.

What I'm trying to say is, if I select "hide this song" I expect that song to now be hidden and not play on that playlist, not just that playlist for those 24hrs on that one device. I'm aware that the algorithm is ever changing and that's great! But when I come across a song I REALLY don't like, I don't want it forced down my throat every time I play that recommended playlist.

Hey folks!

We understand your frustration and would like to help you out to the best of our abilities with this.

Maybe I'm just missing it, but when I listen to music on the iPad, it appears there is only a pause button when listening to music, which leaves me wherever I was at in the song. Is there a stop button somewhere that will stop playing the song and take it back to the beginning, rather than just truly pausing it?

OK. thought maybe i was just missing it. Seems like a pause would just be a waste of resources, leaving the music playing app running with the song in a paused state, rather than just a stop that would not leave it in a active but dormant playing state.

Would you mind sharing your device info so that I can pass this along to our engineering team? I've taken a look at your account, it appears that you may have already tried uninstalling / reinstalling recently. If not, you can find those steps here: iOS Troubleshooting

When you press a button to turn the phones screen back on, the audio will resume on the lock screen, albeit one track further down the playlist. Turning the screen off again will, again, stop the audio.

The other users posts on this issue describe it well - when you press the side button to turn the phones display off (lock it), it stops playing the song if you are playing a downloaded song. If you have a data connection and are streaming, it will continue to play while locked.

Someone mentioned above that it doesn't do this when using airpods. If I recall, I too didn't experience this issue when connected to a bluetooth device. I do however have this problem when my phone is connected to wired headphones, and when my phone is playing out of its own internal speaker.

Stations downloaded but then it'll erase them when offline. It's directly correlated to the iPhone lock and offline with Pandora. I've played with this issue on three phones over 2 months or of service and it's really frustrating, to say the least

Yes! I thought I was crazy but you are right. Initially I blamed it on the fact I had deleted & reinstalled the app, and maybe the station hadn't downloaded fully. But after confirming that all my stations that I want offline access to had fully downloaded, I noticed that they would disappear randomly while in off-line mode.

I've really reached my limit with the buggy-ness of Pandora lately. It's never been great, just good enough, and I know the process of trying to reconstruct my music tastes with another service would be a pain. But my frustration is high enough at this point that it may come to that

I received an email stating that one of the messages in this thread was recorded as a solution - but it certainly is not. Without the ability to listen reliably off-line, Pandora is useless to me. Very frustrating

Hi @Greyout! Thanks for your continued patience. We are working on a resolution, but do not yet have an ETA for when that will be available. We'll continue to follow along with engineering conversations and relay updates to you as they become available.

*Please note: This message has been Accepted as a Solution to flag the current steps and/or status of this thread. This post will be updated with more information as it is provided to the moderation team, if required.

When is this issue going to be fixed?! This issue "Pandora stopping when the Iphone is locked" has been posted for some time. PLEASE PROVIDE an ETA so that the ENORMOUS number of IPHONE users know that this is being ACTUALLY worked on. Note this issue is only when the phone is not using a bluetooth connection to audio, but it only happens when the Iphone is playing on the speaker, or through hard wire Audio connection.

* The users reporting this issue are PAYING customers to Pandora. They work hard, sacrifice their hard earned $10-20/month EVERY month for using this subscription service. We, effectively, are how Pandora essentially has a business to operate, and how you have employment, no offense but I want to make that clear.

- To pay for a service every single month, $10-20/month over the course of nearly 8-10 months and NOT providing said services is essentially stealing from your customer's. It's as though promises are made, advertised, and then upon payment we (your customers) end up without that product. The very nature of paying for Pandora is "Offline Music." Without providing your customers with what's advertised, you are failing to provide to us what's promised.

- Most users that pay for the additional subscription are doing so SPECIFICALLY for the Offline Music option. These customers are misled that upon paying for offline music, that they will have their stations upon necessity of music in areas without cellular service. 152ee80cbc
