Privacy Policy — Nocturne: Site Color Tuner
Last updated: July 2026
Nocturne — Site Color Tuner ("the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
Data collection
Nocturne does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The extension does not use analytics, does not contact any remote server, and does not include any tracking code.
Data storage
The extension uses Chrome's built-in storage API to save the color palettes you create, on your own device only. Each saved palette is associated with the hostname of the website it was created for (for example, example.com), so your color choices are automatically re-applied the next time you visit that site.
This data:
Stays entirely on your local device (or syncs only through your own Google account if Chrome sync is enabled by you).
Is never sent to the developer or to any third party.
Can be permanently deleted at any time by removing the extension, or by using the "Reset to default" and delete-palette controls inside the extension's popup.
Permissions used
Permission
Purpose
activeTab
Lets the popup read the colors of the page you currently have open, and apply your chosen overrides back to that same tab, only when you interact with the extension.
scripting
Injects a small script into the active tab so it can scan the page's colors and apply your saved overrides.
storage
Saves your palettes locally on your device so they persist between visits.
Host permission (<all_urls>)
Required so you can choose to tune the colors of any website you visit; the extension only acts on a page when you open the popup for it.
No remote code is loaded or executed. All code running in the extension is included in the installed package.
Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
