Norfolk and Norwich Rouen Friendship Association
Norfolk and Norwich Rouen Friendship Association
NNRFA was set up in 1990 and its counterpart in our spectacular twin city of Rouen is the Rouen-Norwich-Club. The formal twinning of the two cities took place in 1959 after several links had already been made and our 60+-year association is really something to be proud of. The aims are to promote links and exchanges between groups and individuals with similar interests: sports, artists, archaeologists, clinicians, musicians and youth are some successful examples.
Both associations arrange social events and four-day visits in alternate years to the other city. A visit includes excursions which have included the stone quarries of Caen, Monet's garden, Honfleur and a brewery with links to a brewhouse in Norfolk. It goes without saying that visits give us the chance to meet members of the Rouen-Norwich-Club, our twin association. Accommodation can be arranged with hosts or in a hotel.
Over 60+ years Norwich-Rouen links have been made thanks to the goodwill and enthusiasm of many people in both cities. If you're in a group that is interested in an exchange with a similar group in Rouen, get in touch and we will find a contact for you. Ideally, please support our twinning with Rouen and join us or fill in the form on the contact page. Do also follow our Facebook page, Norwich Rouen Twinning.
You can keep up to date with events in Rouen on their website and on their Facebook page.
